Other Than The Ravens

49 posts in this topic

Simply, which is your favorite team aside of the Ravens. I'd probably say that mine would be the Cardinals. This is mainly because of the fact that I heard somewhere that Fitzgerald took a paycut one time so that some of his team mates could be resigned, it sets him apart of most other sportsmen.

Also, your least favorite teams aside of the division rivals. Mine's the Patriots simply because of all the bandwagon fans they have.

When I first got interested in football a lot of books and videos I managed to get were on the 49'ers so got a soft spot for them.
Saw them in Wembly this year

I'm slowly starting to like the Chiefs because I've followed some of their younger players since college, and I'm a huge fan of Jamaal Charles. I've also liked the Saints for a while, even when they were the Aints and sucked, mostly because Brees is my favorite QB of all time.

As for a team I hate, it's the Cowboys. I love to see them lose and I hate the fact that they're called "America's team". Please. I also hate that they have a Prime Time game every damn week even though they suck this year. My whole family loves the Cowboys as well because my last name is Romo, so it's refreshing to get on their cases, especially when we killed them in '08. I also hate the Vikings because of Favre and one of my snotty friends is a fan so I like to make him mad whenever they lose, especially this year lol.

A fair call on all counts about the Cowboys. I dislike Favre himself, not the Vikes though.

I'll have to admit, other than the Ravens, I have been one for the Eagles, and that was mostly due to Reggie White and Randall Cunningham being members of the team during that time.

As for a least favorite team, that would have to be the Cowboys, primarily due to their arrogance - on and off the field.

The Eagles. My roommate (who is also one of my best friends) is a die hard Eagles fan so we always watch our respective teams games together. Very different styles since you have a speedy finesse vs. smash mouth. It's funny how antsy we are watching our own team play, but really relaxed when watching the other. I know more about the Eagles then any other team (outside of the Ravens of course).

Definitely the Packers. I'm a closet Cheesehead for one particular reason:

John Kuhn

is a fellow York County native, plus my first semester of graduate school at Shippensburg University of PA was his senior season of football (he still holds the Red Raider career rushing record...as well as four PSAC records). I got to watch him play and got to meet him.

Glad he's not with the Steelers anymore. :D

I thought there was a thread like that.. mhmm
Oh well, I could see myelf rooting for only one other team and that would be the Packers and I'd sure as hell love to attend a match at Lambeau.

For me, I like the Bears, because of Walter Payton. Great player and person. Even though I don't like Cutler.

Outside of our division, I particularly despise the Pats. Belichick, Brady and the cheating thing... I hate the air that Tom Brady breathes... :)

Probably the Texans. Only because of AJ though.

Hate the Jets the most out of the non divisional teams.

I'm with you. I like the Texans as well. Andre Johnson is one of my favorite players in the league.

Other than that, I"m always a fan of the underdog. I always tend to hate the top teams. I want to see Detroit and Buffalo succeed, so I am a fan of those guys.

umm...

i actually like the Raiders. i use to live in Cali years ago and the Silver & Black were hot back then and i have been hooked on them (win or lose) ever since.

i hate the Redskins! my entire area (Hampton Roads/Tidewater Virginia) gets behind and supports them. irregardless of their horrible non-playoff records, their games are always televised even when they are on the road. shameful!

Other than the Ravens, I am starting to take interest in the Lions. Its very awesome to watch a team rebuild from being in the bottom of the NFL and see them improve each year

Eagles. I followed Vick there last year, and I'll probably still stand once he's gone, as long as they don't play my beloved Ravens. Plus, I like crazed fans that are liable to throw beer bottles at you if you lose! lol.

Not that I really cheer for other teams but I'm partial to the Packers. Their history, throwing Favre out, and my appreciation of Aaron Rodgers all contribute to that...

I'm starting to like the Chiefs. Dwayne Bowe is a beast, Charles is tearin it up, and Cassel seems like a legit QB.

I actually don't care about or follow any other team in the NFL, and if it weren't for Baltimore getting a team I wouldn't even follow football.
I do respect other teams, and I like to cheer on the underdogs.
Like I said, I have respect for other teams, but I really don't like other teams, I like or respect other players, but not so much an entire team.

I hate, yet I respect the Steelers, the Pats and the Colts.
I like to cheer on the Browns, mainly because of the situation of us taking their team, plus a very good friend of mine is from Cleveland and loves the Browns, but respects the Ravens, not to mention they are always an underdog.
I kinda pull for the Rams because they have been terrible for awhile and Bradford is actually showing signs of becoming a great QB.
I feel similar about the Lions, I want to see them do good, and Suh is a beast.
I hate the Eagles and even the city of Philly, not to mention Vick and his issues off the field but I have learned to appreciate Vick for his play on the field, he's been amazing this season, even though I don't like the style of QBing he's known for, it's growing on me, and it's he who changed that since he also developed a pocket presence.
I also kinda pull for Oakland, even though that city might not warrant a team, but the fans are insane, and they are known for being the badass' of the NFL.
I also have respect for Green Bay, mainly because they are finally doing well, and I like Rodgers, I respect him and think he'll continue to be a great QB.
I also have a place in my grinch heart for the Vikings.
They have suffered through so many injuries and the whole Favre thing, the whole terrible stadium thing, and the whole Minn. working class thing. I'd hate to see the team relocated to another city, and if they build a new stadium in Minn., I hope it's an outdoor stadium.
Also the Bears, mainly for their history and for Chicago, but I really don't care too much about them.
I hate the Cowboys, the Jets, the Giants, the Dolphins even though I love Dolphins, I hate the Redskins and especially hate when the Cowboys play the Redskins, I hate Denver and orange and blue and I currently hate Atlanta because of the Ryan vs Flacco thing, plus they beat us...
There are styles of football I like, obviously it stems from the Ravens and the AFC North style of play, but I prefer physical, tough, beat you down old school football to a high powered offense and a flashy QB or WR.
I prefer smashmouth football and dominate defense, even though that seems to be leaving the NFL.
We'll see how long that lasts.
Obviously if the Ravens could play as they are known on defense while having a high powered offense I'd love it, but it's pretty much impossible to do in the NFL.
If our offense was as physical as our defense, that would be an ideal team, but that never really happens.

Go Ravens, only!

How true, Jay, the Eagles fans are pretty tough, especially when the other teams are feasting on their Eagles. I can recall that when Veterans Stadium was still standing, the fans in the upper deck - the vaunted 700 Level - were pretty vicious, getting into fights with fans of the opponents and all. There were so many problems with fights that the city eventually built a small court and jail in the stadium basement for game days.

They're finally making good decisions with their draft picks. I like Jim Schwartz and Suh looks good so far. Also I think Matt Stafford is the real deal, if only he could stay on the field. They're building a core that should help them to be a consistent contender.

I'd say my second team would be the 49ers because my wife is a lifetime fan of theirs, otherwise, I don't care at all about the NFC.

For who I like least outside the division, it's probably a toss up between the Chargers and Broncos.

hah, well I didn't want to be that guy, the one that says a bold sentence or two without explaining or backing it up.

Ultimately, I don't care about any other team but the Ravens.
But, having said that, I can still watch non Raven games and cheer on one team, whether it's a player or coach I like, and most importantly, if I picked them to win or not...
