I haven't heard anything from this guy, but hopefully we can play him in red zone situations.

Ernie Wheelwright

Height: 6-45/8 | Weight: 219 | 40-Time: 4.52

Strengths:

Excellent size and a big frame with long arms..Adequate timed speed for a guy his size...Great leaper with good ball skills...A playmaker who has shown the ability to get deep..Uses his body well...A force in the redzone..Durable..Lots of experience.

Weaknesses:

Extremely inconsistent...Isn't very explosive and lacks a burst...Needs to be more physical and aggressive...Doesn't get a lot of separation...Hands are just average at best..Not a great route runner..Work ethic and maturity have been questioned.

Notes:

Was a four-year starter...Had a very good senior campaign...Ranks 3rd in Gophers history in career receptions & receiving yards and 2nd in receiving touchdowns...A bit of an underachiever who has the physical tools of an early round pick but does not always play to them..Intriguing prospect who could be worth taking a flyer on.

His upside doesn't seem to outweigh his downside in this case. But he is a big guy, maybe we can use him for some long passes and close to the goal line.
