im taking the 07 Giants because they have such a good pass rush and if eli plays like he did in the postseason with that pass rush it would be very hard to stop the giants

Its the 02 Bucs hands down. They played great all season that year. Do we not remember how the Giants defense played early in the season? They were horrible. They had a great pass rush but they had to because their secondary wasnt up to par. The Bucs were the more complete team and they were the more consistant team. Defensively speaking anyways.

However, the Buccaneers' defense was still the strength of the team, leading the NFL in total defense (252.8 yards per game), pass defense (155.6 yards per game), points allowed (12.3 points per game), passing touchdowns allowed (10), interceptions (31), and opponent passer rating (48.4). Brooks, Lynch, Sapp and lineman Simeon Rice all had Pro Bowl years. Brooks led the team with 87 tackles and excelled at pass coverage, recording 5 interceptions, 218 return yards, and 2 touchdowns. Rice led the team with 15.5 sacks. Sapp recorded 7.5 sacks and 2 interceptions. Cornerback Brian Kelly was also a big asset, leading the team with 8 interceptions.

I don't think this defense gets talked about enough when it comes to great defenses. those are some scary numbers!

That Bucs defense is so underrated. It had future Hall of Famers from front to back (Warren Sapp on the line, Derrick Brooks at LB, John Lynch at FS) along with other solid-to-excellent players like Ronde Barber, Shelton Quarles and Simeon Rice all at or near their primes...

That unit just doesn't get enough notice in discussions about all-time great defenses. This coming from a guy who cringes at the idea of calling something "underrated."
