I want to hear at least one of you acknowledge the role of the refs in this loss. We got screwed. If you cant see that then you are blind.

Lots of crying about the refs. Join the club. We've been down this route for the last 4 years.

[font="Verdana"][size="2"]The Ravens/Steelers getting screwed by the refs is an old topic that's been beaten to death, almost to the point it should be added to the list of forbidden topics here.

Been there, done that. They get you, they get us. Face it, the refs hate the AFC north.

Unless you are playing the Dolphins.

I don't know about the whole game, but I sure saw at least three "ghost" spots that gave you guys first downs. Even the announcers acknowledged two of those instances were mistakes.

Ravens win..Steelers lose (and to the Jets, no less). Great way to end my fantastic weekend with family.

I'm happy the Steelers lost but let's be realistic, they'll clinch the division title. There is no way they can lose to Carolina in Pittsburgh and I just can't see them blowing the regular season finale in Cleveland. But I guess a man can always dream..

I would have agreed with you but now...no Troy (we know how that worked for them last season) and their offense just isn't itself either. I don't see them dropping one to the Panthers (though they'll be on a high after their win today) but a Division game, and the Browns don't like them. Plus, the Browns have shown they have the ability to show up for big games. Not holding my breath but not giving up on the Division just yet either.

Refs were the refs were the refs. Welcome to the real NFL where there are bad calls that DON'T go your way that impact the game in a big way every week. With the exception of the Pats/Indy the rest of us have been dealing with this for years and we didn't get any sympathy from anyone, least of all Steeler fans who always said "Penalties and non-calls are a part of the game. Deal with it." You got two "ghost" first downs. Multiple holding by your O line that wasn't called. One clear PI call that was not flagged. Yes, there was a jersey grab on that play that was not flagged but you can't say the refs were against you. They were just their normal inconsistent selves. As they are every week for every team (with those two obvious exceptions).

Bingo. It's hard to have sympathy for the Steelers when we've been called whiners for years. Also, I'm still not over the gift they got in the Dolphins game, which would make a HUGE difference right now. The Steve Johnson drop is still fresh in my mind too, although that was just unfortunate not unfair.

The Ryan Clark penalty was totally legitimate. He clearly launched into the receiver, while leading with his helmet. You simply can't do that in today's NFL.

It's the same thing that Merriweather did to Heap... Launching yourself into a defenseless receiver in the head/neck area with your helmet is a penalty - he should expect a fine, too.
