David Reed As Wr

14 posts in this topic

I know we have a deep receiving core but I would like to see David Reed used some more on offense. I think he could be effective if used like a Wes Welker type guy out of the slot. Just like McGahee is change of pace RB, Reed can be a change of pace WR. No offense to Mase, Q and Housh but they're all in the same mold. I'd like to see a package that includes Reed and Stallworth just to put some more speed out there and have Mase or Q run underneath routes. Any thoughts?

I like it, but Reed also has to show and prove in practice. I really think he's opening eyes in Baltimore and I've heard quotes from Harbs saying how special Reed will be as a WR.

So yes I would love to see Reed get some snaps on offense. Seeing his toughest on the return last week, I think it would be great to get him out on a few screens, or underneath crossing routes and let him run.

I think it's a bit too deep in the season to start using him like a Wes Welker type, as it'll take he and Flacco time to get adjusted to each other. However i definitely think he could be a added weapon to the offense.

It's obvious really.

Even with great WRs like Q, Mason and Houshmandzadeh, you'd like to see players with Reed and Stallworth's speed get a target or two off a screen or slant. If the play failed, I'd be cool with it but not even so much as an attempt thanks to Cam.

Reed has a rush off an end around but not even a target and Stallworth has more rushes than catches. Sad...

I like the idea too. The Pats don't have a problem including younger players especially this year. Younger players like D Reed are an unknown to defenses. Like the impact Miles Alston had when he was an unknown; how about Arian Foster this season. Sometimes, gradually including these unknowns can work against a team from a surprise-the-defense point of view.

Looking at how teams account for Ray Rice this season should be an example of the importance of inclusion as immediately as is feesible for talented team members.

I want to say this Cam needs to add variety to the game plannings which means he needs to forget about we have 3 of the best WRs in the league instead of breaking it down and using them effective based on their skills. Therefore, Mason and Hous need to sit if the plans go with 1 under 1 middle and 1 deep: D. Reed, Q, and Stallworth. 2nd option, D. Reed, Mason, and Stallworth or Hous in Mason slot. That's what we need to go with 3WRs set.

Running, we can do with 2 TEs with FB to support the run.

PS: We need to use everyone's strength and forget about who they are. We play to win, not to satisfy anyone's ego.

I'd love to see Reed get more snaps at WR for many reasons, but most importantly because wide receiver is a posiiton of concern in the offseason. Only Reed and Boldin are under contract after this season, and we don't know whether Mason wil call it a career. Housh, given all of the statemnts he's made over the season, probably doesn't even want to come back to the Ravens, and Stallworth's state of mind is anyone's guess, though I think of the three, he's the most likely to come back. At some point in the offseason, though, we have to look at the WR position, whether it's free agency or the draft, and it would be good to really see what Reed can do so we have a better idea of what kind of player we need to bring in to compliment the ones we already have.

Patriots do a very good job using people the way they are suppose to be used.

I like the idea, but I can't see it happening much this season. By next season hopefully he will be a big part because I can see at least one of Mase, Housh or Stallworth not being here. It will happen eventually though, Harbs is big on him, I remember hearing a quote of him saying that he would be special.

The Ravens are focused on making a deep playoff run into the Super Bowl, not who will be here next year or not. I would love to see Reed, but seeing him in game action is more of a way for fans to see what he has, not the team.

The Ravens coaches already know a good deal about what Reed can do from practice and that'll allow them to project into next season. Now do u still want him to do it in game situations? Of course but it's hard when u are the 5WR and probably the 9th option in the offense.

We could possibly see Reed get a target or two before the end of the season, but nowhere near enough for anyone outside of the facility to say, Oh he's the guy of the future.

Call it unfair or whatever you want, but David Reed is a guy that will have to earn his way onto the field with the amount of veteran guys we have in front of him. Special Teams is how he'll earn his way onto the offense, and he's doing a really good job of that.

DE Antwan Barnes could hardly get a play with the Ravens but has 4 sacks with the Chargers. Good for him!

I've saying that all year, u need to get other people involved like the pats BB where he uses players strengths to get them on the field, harb needs to do that, and i don't mean start the guy, just give him a snap or two just to as a change of pace, we definitely need to see more of stalworth and give a couple snaps to reed, they're both elusive and quick,
