I don't know, but where's the popcorn? This is going to be fun.

Might have to change my fantasy team around. Dallas's D is now looking better than Oakland's.

They just confirmed this on NFL.com: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81cfa243/article/redskins-mcnabb-benched-grossman-to-start-vs-boys?module=breaking_news

I gotta say, this is just about one of the dumbest things I've seen this season. Not only will the Cowboys (who have been on fire their last few games) trounce Grossman and the 'Skins, but Mike Shanahan and his son Kyle are gonna be deemed the biggest idiots of the 2010 season. McNabb gives them the best chance to win, regardless of how he's played. Rex Grossman?!?! Are you kidding me?!!! Mike won't be fired because he's inheriting personnel he's unfamiliar with and a team that needs rebuilding. But I hope the 'Skins get rid of Kyle because he's definitely trying to hide his shortcomings behind McNabb.

Shanahan needs to get out of D.C.; what a sorry excuse for a franchise the Redskins have become.
yeah, i can't imagine snyder sticking around much longer now.

the eagles have done very well out of this, they traded mcnabb at just the right time it seems

Yeah the Owners isn't going anywhere. Now that that grubby little puke of a man has his hands on the team of his childhood. He'll never let go because overall the organization is still making him plenty of money.

Owners never "step" down, they only become forever bad owners. Plenty of them in the league.

We know all about that (see: Peter Angelos)

This doesn't surprise me. The 'skins are already out of the playoffs so what do they really have to lose by starting Grossman? Heck, the more games they lose now, the better draft picks that Snyder can trade away for another past his prime veteran.

Yep that is true. Heck I wouldn't be surprised to see Dan toss their 1st round pick away for Vincent Jackson and over pay him.

Lol, Shanny is done.
Yeah, and so is McNabb. Neither is returning and someone is going to get a good QB for nothing if they just out right release him or they could try to trade him but I think he'll be out right cut because Shanny said McNabb is the 3rd Quarterback on the depth chart for the rest of the year... behind Grossman and John Beck!

What a disgrace. First the Eagles disrespect McNabb by saying that he will be the starter and then trades him away. Now the Redskins are disrespecting him by benching him for Grossman. I hope McNabb goes to a place where he is respected.

We should franchise Bulger in the off-season. We might be able to get a 2nd round pick for him....ha

Better Idea.... Franchise Gaither and convince them to move Trent Williams to RT and give us 2 1st round picks for Gaither!

Report: After Reading JO_75's Idea Dan Snyder is loving the idea of sending 2 1st round Picks down 95 to the Ravens in return for Jared Gaither.

More shocking news.
After this week, they plan on dropping McNabb to the 3rd string QB behind Rex and Beck.

You all know I'm an eternal optimist and can see a silver lining in almost anything -- so you also know it's pretty bad if I can find no silver lining here.

There is no sliver of logic and no shred of common sense to be found in this move. What evaluation is to be done of Rex Grossman and John Beck, when the book has already been written on their careers and they have enough of a body of work on which to be judged? What head coach would rightfully think that, even with McNabb's atrocious TD-to-INT ratio, Grossman or Beck gives the Redskins a better chance to win? More importantly, what positive message is there to be sent to keep the locker room together if you bench one of your team captains in McNabb?

The locker room is not divided because of McNabb's play; the locker room is divided over the questionable moves that Shanahan has made all season, including the retention of Albert Haynesworth when there was no intent to ever play him. Shanahan's non-committal approach to McNabb and Haynesworth now has the entire locker room questioning their job security, which does nothing to get the players to buy into the system.

What next, Shanahan will bench team captain London Fletcher as well for only doing his job and gobbling up tackles from younger guys like Pez candy? Clinton Portis gets the start next week even though he's on injured reserve? They trade Carlos Rogers to the Eagles even though it's past the trade deadline and the Eagles are the divisional front-runner?

It's now apparent that the problem in Denver was not just owner Pat Bowlen, but also the delusions and nepotism of Mike and Kyle Shanahan. Mike is doing this to protect his son and try to convince everyone that his son was not the problem with the offense; unfortunately, sometimes, fathers don't always know best.

Honestly bad idea. Im sure McNabb will be released....

Now here a scenario that could very well happen.

Titans trade or release Vince Young and then they sign Mcnabb. I think Jeff Fisher and McNabb could get along and could actually not have any problems.

The Titans need someone for the future, not an aging, declining QB like McNabb. People can dislike how the Redskins have handled things this year but while he certainly hasn't had much to work with, Donovan has played poorly himself too.

One can only hope.

Last week they were broadcasting Pats/Bears, but when that got out of hand they switched over to something more competitive.

However this is Dallas and Washington and the media has a love fest with that match-up so I'm not holding my breath.

One of my close friends is a Redskins fan and he really can't understand why the move was made. If you have a young quarterback to develop, then it's understandable, but Rex Grossman? This is just a slap in McNabb's face. No way he returns next year.

Maybe, though, they are just conceding these next few games and hoping for a good draft pick. Who knows? I am not a fan of how Shanahan runs a team and I'm ecstatic he isn't our head coach.

I don't know if you want to call this more disrespect to McNabb but I think this is a sign that McNabb won't be in Washington next year, or it could be last minute marketing to sell McNabb jerseys for the holidays..

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/19/more-disrespect-for-donovan/
The standard price for replica jerseys bearing the names and numbers of players like LaRon Landry — and even Malcolm Kelly — is $80. Donovan’s jersey can now be had for $39.95, the same price that has been applied to the jersey of Albert Haynesworth, who currently is serving a four-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
McNabb probably wishes he would have vetoed this trade now and the Eagles are laughing it up.

McNabb can't throw for more than 2 TDs in any game this season but Grossman goes off for 4. I love the NFL.
That just adds to the wackyness of this season. Everything we thought we knew was thrown out the window season. Could you imagine if they keep release McNabb and Rex becomes the starter for year or two.

Maybe it is McNabb who has lost a step. 4 TDs. Grossman wasn't half bad. He really relied upon Santana Moss.

Nope, which probably explains why I just read that Shanahan would welcome McNabb back next year... as a backup. How much more disrespectful can the Redskins be to McNabb? Especially if Grossman is the starter and McNabb is the backup.
