I know who some may consider the obvious answer, but bare in mind that Ike knows Santo very well and has been lights out himself this year. Think about it a bit before you answer.

I'm surprised I hadn't thought about it sooner. Seems like an interesting set of match ups.

I dont know if Revis will be on Wallace honestly. Wallace is a vertical threat, tall and lean much like the WR Cromartie excels against in coverage. Ward is a guy who can give Cromartie problems with his physicality, which is where Revis would have zero problem with. If I was Rex I would go Cromartie-Wallace, Revis-Ward.

I'm saying Holmes, which is simple to me.

I say it's simple mostly due to who's under center. Ben's able to spread the ball around, and have some good success with nearly all of his receivers. Sanchez, on the other hand, doesn't have that level of talent. Sanchez seems to love Holmes when it matters most, and Holmes is usually able to get open or make an incredible catch. So while Taylor may be playing well this season, Holmes is still a tough guy to cover. Factor in Sanchez's likelihood to look Holmes way (Holmes missed 4 games, yet is third in receptions and only 7 short of first), and I just see him having more of an impact.

Don't get me wrong, Wallace is good, and if Revis slacks, he'll have a big day. I just feel Ben can see success with nearly all of his receivers, while Sanchez may try to look towards Holmes more often just due to his ability to bail Sanchez out.

Holmes, becuase he is all the Jets really have right now. The wheels have fallen off their run game. Keller and Edwards can't hold onto the ball.

Plus even though Ike knows him well. Something about players coming back to play a former team that got rid of them adds some fire. Wallace will get some catches but he won't be as big as an impact as Holmes.

Interesting take. You may be right. I know Ward can be dangerous, but that's usually across the middle. I never thought of Hines as the guy you put your Ace CB on. But again, maybe you're right.

Again, both valid points. I can't really argue.

Honestly, I think I'd put Revis on Wallace and Cromartie on Ward. I see no way Cromartie can stay with Wallace step for step on a regular basis. The man's been burned often in the past, and Wallace is the definition of a burner. You'd be better off leaving the crafty Revis on Wallace, and have Cromartie do what he can against Ward. Otherwise, you might see Wallace get behind Cromartie for the deep past often.

I voted for Holmes, but he,and the rest of the Jet's reciving core has been dropping balls like crazy. He did drop a easy touchdown in their lose to the Dolphins. But I think(and hope) that the Jets get it together for the Steelers game, crush them. No offence Wardy! <_<

None taken. You're a Ravens fan; that's how you're supposed to feel. Though, I do get insulted when you guys pull for the Pats over us. lol.

Revis can get pretty physical. I wonder if Wallace would be ready for that. On the other had, a physical battle between Ward and Revis??? Whooooo Buddy! THAT I want to see! lol

Well I'm pretty sure the Jets rotate coverage. I think Cromartie will be on Wallace most of the time. They have a lot of faith in him. Rex will probably think Ward is still the main threat in Pittsburgh and try to keep Revis on him.

Keep in mind these are just theories, but even gravity is a theory...

These are all good theories. I may watch this game a bit differently.

I'm going to say Holmes simply because the Steelers' CBs aren't as good NY's.
[/quote]

Ike has hands of stone, but he can cover with the best of them. I've always been critical of him in the past, but he's really impressed me this year.

But Cromartie has the ability to press Wallace to the point Wallace hasnt been exposed to as well as the athleticism afterwords. Cromartie is not slow despite his size and I dont believe Wallace has the route running savvy to get past someone who can match him athletically as well as press him at the LOS. Also when you completely take Ward out of the game (ie our games against them) their offense isnt the same, that leaves only Miller to work the middle of the field against LBs.

That said, Sanchez will personally sink the ship this game and hand the game to the Steelers defense on a silver platter.

I hope so, because our o-line is horrible. Ranked 29th in the league in pass protection. The only plus is that the only team ranked below 12 to even make it to the SB was the 2008 Steelers.

I'd take Revis and even soft Cromartie over him but Ike is a solid CB. Still, I can see Holmes exploiting him for some big plays.

Regardless, I don't see the Steelers losing.

How's Holmes feel about the Steelers after they traded him? I think "revenge" plays an interesting factor because it can motivate players to perform at a higher level. And Holmes always shows up in big important games.

I've not heard anything from either side about any animosity. In fact, it's been quite the opposite.

Oh man, its going to be bad. I can't see Sanchez having very much success. He's probably in meeting now pouting "I can't do it Rex, I'm not an NFL QB, they are going to kill me." Oh they will.

Such a shame, we really need the Jets to win this one.

lol no doubt, the "deer in headlights" look will be in full effect on Sunday. Especially when the lightbulb goes off in Sanchez and he says to himself " oh [bad word], Im gonna have to win this with my arm?!"

lmao! he looks like a tedy bear when the game is on his hands.

Again, I think Holmes will eat big junk of yards when Sanchez tries to force every down to him cuz other recievers don't want to catch his wet ball.

PS: I want the Steelers to lose this one bad but I can't anything to support the Jets....

If dropping a wide-open TD pass like Braylon "Stonehands" Edwards would happily do then Holmes will have the bigger impact. :D

The Jets would be better with Brunell or Clemens under center. I'm honestly surprised Sanchez went so long without an interception this year. Of course, after that he's thrown 8 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. This guy isn't an NFL quarterback, let alone a top five draft pick. Good news for him though, now he has a better quarterback rating this year than Favre.
