I hope you mean you happened to buy tickets expecting him to be alive rather than some general admission to whenever he'd be doing his first posthumous show.
Haha. Nice. My phrasing was strange. Yes, I had tickets expecting him to be alive :)

I'm thinking that a posthumous show would be less funny, but more...interesting.

What do you think of David Cross? I have heard some of his work, and I'll admit, he may be offensive, but he's right on the money if given the chance.

I haven't heard much of his standup, but he was hilarious on Arrested Development. Another show cancelled before its time.

David Cross is pretty funny. His best stuff was on Mr. Show with Bob & David which aired on HBO several years ago.

I can also recall David Cross getting into a rivalry with Larry the Cable Guy, and I can't say that I blame him. Larry the Cable Guy just gets on your nerves after a while.

That's because saying "Git r done" after an unfunny joke doesn't make that joke any funnier.

How do any of you feel about Kathy Griffin?
She's alright, i think I find her funnier when she's just having conversation than stand up, shes just a funny person.

Ellen DeGeneres can be funny at times, but I think of her more for her gig on daytime television.

Another woman doing stand-up in this day and age is Alison Arngrim, who has been in entertainment since the seventies, when she was a child actress. Have any of you heard her speak?

Let's see, my top ten would be (in no particular order at all. It's too difficult to rank them):
Mitch Hedberg
George Carlin
Lewis Black
Greg Giraldo
Kevin Hart
Jim Gaffigan
Patton Oswalt
Brian Posehn
Bill Engvall
Christopher Titus

like you took the words from my mouth

That's because my list is made of win.

On a side note, I feel bad for Bill Engvall, or pretty much anyone who has to be associated with Larry the Cable Guy.

"I was at a casino, minding my own business. This guy comes up to me and said 'You are going to have to move. You're blocking the fire exit.' As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table."

"I got a business card cause I wanna win some lunches. That's what my card says 'Mitch Hedberg, Potential Lunch Winner'. Gimme a call, maybe we'll have lunch... if I'm lucky."

Nope never herd of her.

Ellen has not done stand up (as far as I know ) since the 80's and that stuff was straight up funny. But even on her talk show she just has a natural humor to her.

She just had an HBO special about a year ago, but thanks for playing.

This will be my final line on stand-up comedy for a while - I have been somewhat of a fan of Bill Maher, and i was wondering what all of you think of his work.

He can be really funny at times. Other times he seems too sure that he's right and can be kind of pompous and condescending.

I loved his movie Religulous though. Go watch that.

Dunham was funny when he first got big, then he got shoved down every human being's throat on a daily basis.

Anyways, I'm finding Doug Benson pretty funny lately, and I'm usually not a fan.

Who are your favorite stand up comics? Personally I like Daniel Tosh. I still think Dane Cook is pretty funny, but not as much as I used to. Nick Swardson is pretty funny as well. Who is your favorite?

agreed. Love Tosh and Nick. Cook got kinda old fast. Liked him when I was in High School though..

During Christmas Eve, I was forced to watch part of his Christmas special. A puppet making unfunny, racist comments doesn't magically make those jokes funny. It's just stupid.
