Phenomenal Youtube Singing Sensation

I was browsing youtube the other day and stumbled across this guy. He does covers of well known songs and sings most of them better than the songs actual artist in my opinion. Take a listen.

exactly. he's great but if he doesn't know anybody then thats it. maybe if he goes on american idol, or another talent show, he might get a shot

He's good I'll say that. Here's the thing about anything on Youtube or any video people think are amazing, sometimes it's fake. Not saying this is, but I have to admit I was looking to see if I could catch any lip singing. Also you can change the audio to make people sound good. How do we know that is him really singing the song but he is really horrible but the audio was tweaked to make him sound good? I see things on Yahoo and AOL about amazing animal videos or amazing kids on video but I just can't believe it because how do we know that the video wasn't edited to make it look like whatever they are trying to get fame for, similar to this guy.

In fact, with any singer today, you can be fooled into thinking they sound good with some studio editing but reality hits when your live and in front of millions of people. Taylor Swift is a perfect example. She sounds good on CDs and the radio, but the problem is she sounds completely different live. In fact that is a reason why I turn the station anytime a Taylor Song comes on because I know she can't really sing, she isn't Country and all she is is a product of "the system" AKA Cheap Editing Tricks. This kid sounds "good" but don't go all gaga over him knowing the technology we have today can make anyone sound good.

Why do you care? If it sounds good how it's being broadcast to you at that time does it really matter if she can't sing? And does it matter enough for you to actually turn the station?

Fair points, but I dont know how you can say after listening to multiple songs that he is average. I'd say slightly above average at worst. Check out all the views his page has. Over 1.5 million. I think we can all agree he's more talented than some of the young singers out there i.e. Justin Bieber, Willow Smith.

And we ARE on topic because it's a demonstration of editing, as I so eloquently called you out on doing so. You have the ability to edit your posts without giving it away just as this kid has the ability to edit his songs before anyone hears it pre-edit. So while you can make yourself appear smarter by preventing yourself from looking like you had to undo a mistake, the guy in the video can erase his mistakes as well. Therefore neither of you have any credibility.

Anyway, what I wanted to say about this topic is

Don't any of these so-called good singers ever skip out of the mainstream a little? Maybe cover a song that hasn't been on the top of the charts? Because most of the top of the chart songs show off very little vocal talent. Mid-range, mid tempo garbage. And all these goofy "singing sensations" cover these songs why? So they can be picked up and sing more garbage, mainstream music. That tells me right away they're not in it to make good music, which is lucky. You don't have to anymore.

This. There's millions of people out there that can sing, but anyone who's able to play a variety of instruments and use little to no software to create or borrow a sound is what I really like. Creativity is key!
