How Would You Build The Offensive Line?

Matt Birk = needs to be replaced. Outside of football his a great guy. But we pay him alto of money and the only skill-set in his age was his experience. But seeing him from this season (and a little bit of last season), was terrible. His off running in random areas. Is terrible at blitz-schemes, and gets out-beat athletically now. He should be the first person to replace (we pay him like 4.5 mill a season).


I don't question Gaither's physicality, but his mind is now into money, not the game. He'll hardly want to stay into Ravens, and probably want to get into money-pit area like say RedSkins, where all stars go and pig out.

Oher is not capable of being a solid LT. He was great in RT, and this season has shown that. So we need RT, Center, and left guard to replace grubbs.

Why do you say Grubbs needs to be replaced?

I may be mistaken but, I was under the impression that since Gaither didn't play at all this season and didn't complete his original contract, that he would not be eligible for free agency following this season. And even if he is, who's to say that the FO doesn't place the franchise tag on him, keeping him in place until he proves he can stay healthy for a full season, thus warranting his wishes for a big contract.

Grubbs has regressed in run blocking, right now Yanda is our best lineman and we're going to have to cough up a lot of cash to retain him.

This is not an argument just a discussion. So don't take this the wrong way. Stats mean almost nothing, watch the game. I guarantee it will happen again today. He stops blocking or seems to have trouble finding someone to block in the run game, and gets blown up in pass protection.

More recently Peters has been back to his Pro Bowl level, but I don't think anyone can contain Suggs.

A little off topic but Peters actually reminds me a lot of Oher in that they have the physical ability to dominate but will suffer mental lapses from time to time.
