Next Game: Vs New Orleans Saints

370 posts in this topic

Next team up. Doesn't look good on paper.

But what we need is the cold weather to affect the Saints play. They struggled a bit against the Bengals a few weeks ago. We can win this game.

Maybe the Saints will go up early, forcing us to be aggressive all game long. Any given Sunday.

Current Weather Forecast:

not worried about the saints.we may give up 38 points and play horrible on defense but we will win this game.the ravens have more ugly wins than any team in the nfl.but yet we are 9-4.we defeat the saints and go 10-4 and then its whos next after that.im tired of all the critics and the stats.

Does anybody think this game won't go down to the last drive? The Ravens have not really blown out anybody nor have they've been blown out.

Yeah, that Bengals game was not a good showing for them and they also had trouble with the 'Boys on T-giving.

Still though, the Saints are a very good team and after last night's display and the Pittsburgh game, I think the book is out on how to beat the Ravens.

Safety off the edge. Overload our line and the pass game is not effective. Our run game has been stagnant all season.

After last night I say no way we win that game. Cold weather or not. We just don't have a complete team to play 4 quarters of football. The Saints do.

true, but the lack of focus this team has will eventually lead to one, and this will probably be the day. I see the game ending up like this

I think we lose this game not because we cant beat them but because we have a lack of aggression to put them away.

I'm hoping for a Raven win and a Steeler loss to the Jets. We can win, but Offense has to play 4 quarters. Each game feels like it could be a breakout game..like last night, until the second half. I'll be here on Sunday rootin' for'em!.

I have a bad feeling about this game. I see a lot of people saying the Ravens have never been blown out or what not on some message boards.

The only thing I have to say is ... there's a first time for everything.

I hope I'm wrong but ...

If we beat the Saints it will be a miracle.

The only thing favoring us on another short week(I believe the NFL conspiracy
theory) will be cold weather and hopefully snow to slow down Brees.

If we get a full game out of our offense then I don't see why not, but that said, I don't think we will. I think the Saints will most likely win this. I hope it doesn't look ugly but after seeing what we did last night its plainly obvious how to beat us: Blitz. We can't protect Flacco or open holes up for Rice. The occasional big play won't be enough to beat Brees and the Saints.

Even after a win last night, I haven't felt this bad about our team in a LONG time. Unless our O line can figure it out, this game is the Saints.

Saints fan here.

I've really been looking forward to this game. I use to be a truck driver and would pull sheetrock around sparrows point allot. Use to listen to The Fan all the time. I like your cities attitude and your fan base.

I don't really know what to expect from this game. I'm cautiously optimistic, but it's tough going on the road in December. I watched the first quarter and a half last night. I turned it off thinking you had the game in hand, then checked the score later and turned the tv back on. I'll be honest though your defense looked gassed out there (which might be to our advantage with your team having a short week), but they came up big in overtime.

We've have mixed results going against 3-4 teams, but I imagine our gameplan will be similar to that against Pittsburgh. One of the keys to beating us is pressure up the middle. We try to counteract that by moving the pocket, but if you can do that, you can force Brees into some poor throws.

I really respect your team, and if we do lose to you guys, I won't be ashamed of it.

Hi Ravens Fans,

Saints fan here. I was here before you guys played the Falcons to wish you luck.

Watch the game last night, wow what a hell of a game. Texans are a very good 4th quarter team, but you guys pulled it off.

Ravens are tough, in no way are we Saints fans thinking this game will be a walk in the park, especially playing in your house.

On paper, we match up pretty well. I have no doubt this game will come down to who has the ball last, and who takes better care of the ball.

Drew has been stellar, but he also given the ball away a lot this season, which is concerning. Our running game is starting to finally reemerge, but against your defense it will be tough.

Here are some statistical comparisons.

Joe needs to deal with the blitz. Our O-line stinks. Matt Birk will probably run around out of position like he always does. Oher will miss the tackle(you know how bad he reads the blitz), and that will make Flacco terrible out there. A lot of our receivers mason, boldin will work their heart out, but it Won't do any good. Our defense will probably do the job...till they exhaust themselves to death, b/c our offense is on the field for less than a minute every time they step in 2nd half.

I think the best we can hope for is 11 wins on the year. No W for this game.
I still think we can win. But Cam and our offense (that's Joe, and the o-line ) needs to step it up in 2nd half.

I see no reason the Ravens can't win this game. This is a similar situation as last season when people were convinced Roethlisberger would carve the secondary apart in Week 16 last season after he had thrown for 500 yards the previous week against GB. The Saints are obviously an explosive team but considering the Ravens have never been blown out this season, I'm not going to believe it happens now just because of last night's second half collapse.

Snow isn't even to our advantage anymore. We aren't exactly physical on offense....
Cold weather and snow is much more of a disadvantage to dome teams though.

I don't think we'll be blown out due to our solid D, and the fact that we have done well to keep turnovers down recently. Josh Wilson in particular last night was hustling all night long, but I have serious doubts about our capability to win.

Saints fans are a lot more worried about this game than you should be. They are only so-so on the road in the cold. Brees has been able to re-establish his rhythm later in the season but I think you guys can disrupt it. If you can, look for Brees to throw some picks and help you out.

They have only won one game against a team with a good defense and that was at home against the steelers.

but it wasnt just last night though.
I had this game down as a L before the season, and the Ravens havent done anything to adjust the way they play to make me think they'll switch gears now

Brees is great against the Blitz or Prevent defense. Don't know what the coaches are going to do to defend against him.The Saints love to blitz, and the Ravens got owned by the Texans horrid defense blitz. Darren Sharper all over in that backfield. Even a 21 point lead isn't safe at this point.

I think the Ravens can win this game, but my confidence is very low at the moment. I need some purple kool aid.

Fair enough. I'm going to believe despite all their shortcomings(and there are many of them), they'll pull this game out.

I'm with you. Despite everything that has gone on. I do believe that we are very capable of winning this game. I like us in another painful one to watch. If this was in NO, it would be a lot tougher.
