Trifecta

While tonight's game left a lot to be desired, we accomplished something that we haven't done in a long time ... we scored a TD in all three facets of the game (offense, defense and ST).

Trivia buffs: quick (no cheating!):

When was the last time we accomplished this feat?

The defense didn't score a defensive TD against the Broncos last year.

I don't remember anyone returning a kick or punt for a TD in '08.

Idk, I think one possibility would be 2003/2004. With Reed blocking a punt and returning it for a TD. Especially when we had good guys to score on D too. I'm going with 03. Or actually I am going with Sep 30, 2002 when C-Mac returned that FG for a TD. Just because I watched the clip of that play last night and I heard them say "the Ravens have done it in all facets tonight" or something like that.

October 12, 2003. Against the Cardinals, Reed blocked a punt and returned it for a TD, McAlister scored on a long interception return and Jeff "Shake n'" Blake threw a TD pass.

Shoulda gone with my original guess. Man with all this hindsight, I now know what it feels like to be Harbs.
But I still give myself some props for originally stating the Reed blocked punt TD.

I knew you'd be the one to get it! (note: ed_reed20 loves a challenge)

To the best of my knowledge, our 2003 game against the Cards was the last time we scored a TD on offense, defense and special teams in the same game. Pretty amazing when you consider how good our defenses and special teams were over the last decade.

7 long years have passed since we last accomplished this feat. Good job boys!

i forget what team we were facing but i could have sworn the game where mcclain made his name known was a crazy game as well because i know he scored off STs.

No it was Jameel (sorry if i mispelled) first season as a undrafted rookie.

McClain blocked a kick and recorded two safeties his rookie year but didn't score a TD.

Wouldn't the block punt count as a ST TD?
[/quote]

The punt rolled out of bounds for a safety.

oh my .... I saw the words 'block' 'punt' 'count' and 'ST TD' ... If you read it too fast like I did and mix up the first letters, it makes for an interesting sentence..like an excerpt of one of Big Ben's police blotters haha
