Let me guess. The Steelers are going to win 19 games next year Mr Cowher?

He did pick the Jets over the Steelers in playoffs.

Impressive. I retract my statement then.

Good Point... and it worked. So many new head coaches while the big name coaches are sitting at home, I can't imagine next off-season, you have to think every coach this year is going to be on their toes...

- Cowher

- Gruden

- Billick

- Fisher

That's an impressive list of coaches to choose from next year.

I'm surprised Billick doesn't get more consideration. He's more successful or just as successful as the other guys on that list. He's certainly a better coach than Gruden and has been to the top, unlike Fisher. Plus, he doesn't live inside his former team like Cowher does.

He would've been smart in SF or Dallas - but what do I know?

I agree, I think its because of my man crush on Billick. The guy hasn't even been named to an interview. I would've thought for sure this off season he would've had some calls. He is finally off the Ravens payroll.

NFL.com just reported that former Ravens (and Steeler) Hall of Fame Defensive Back, Rod Woodson, just signed on to be the Raiders' Defensive Back Coach.

You beat me to it, I was about to post this. On paper this is huge for the Raiders, but we'll have to see what happens in Training Camp if Rod can get the Oakland defensive backs to play better. I wonder if this will help them try to bring back Aso in the mix.

I wonder if this move was to help lure Aso back. Rod is a hall of fame player and has a ton of respect. Its a good move for Oakland.

Yes, and I did realize a bad thing about this... NFL Network loses a good analyst for NFLTA. Rod was one of the analysts on NFL Network I actually liked so I wonder how they will replace him.

Back to Aso, this is most likely a move that is toward trying to keep Aso but you have to think Aso has been with the Raiders for so long and I even think he has to realize they aren't going to win a Super Bowl anytime soon, and by the time they have a chance to contend Aso could be getting close to retirement. I think Aso might just end up choosing a playoff contender over the Raiders despite this just for the fact he wants to win a Super Bowl.

Like the saying. "A bit too little, a bit too late." Aso is as good as gone.
