But Jim, you're welcome to head south.....
Lol, I'd take him. He would've helped earlier in the season, though, when our PR position was in flux.

I heard that too. It's a nice analogy but I don't even think the Jets have done anything to receive the "bully" label this season.

true but the verbal aspect fits

Yea that's basically what they said... They compared them to the school bully and once he gets beat up that first time he doesn't seem to big and bad anymore and he gets made fun of without fear of retaliation
The Jets have had this coming all season, what with all of their last-second/overtime victories and stupid mistakes. I was quite pleased when the 'Phins won with so little effort.

Well reading a Yahoo Article.... the person who tripped the dolphins player is now known!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Video-Jets-employee-trips-Dolphins-player-durin?urn=nfl-294916
The replay showed strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi extending his knee just enough to trip Carroll up on the play. Carroll was down for a minute, but returned to play later in the game.
More Jets news... Rex Ryan almost BENCHED Sanchez!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/12/rex-ryan-almost-benched-mark-sanchez/
“I considered it, but when you look at it, I think he gives us the best chance to win,” Ryan said. “I thought about it and I was like, ‘Nah, it’s not the kid’s fault.’ He’s not the only one to blame here. If I thought that was the case, I would’ve yanked him.”
Sanchez = Leinart 2.0

(Passes Completed / Passes Attempted - 30) x 0.05 = A
(Passing Yards / Passes Attempted - 3) x 0.25 = B
Touchdowns / Passes Attempted x 0.2 = C
2.375 - (Interceptions / Passes Attempted x 0.25) = D

(A + B + C + D) / 6 = E
E x 100 = X

X = QB Rating

http://brucey.net/nf.../qb_rating.html

JOE'S NUMBERS ::
(248 / 398 - 30) x 0.05 = 1.6155
(2,988 / 398 - 3) x 0.25 = 1.1268
19 / 398 x 0.2 = .9547
2.375 - (8 / 398 x 0.25) = 1.8724
(1.6155 + 1.1268 + 0.9547 + 1.8724) / 6 = 0.9282
0.9282 x 100 = 92.82

~ Malkavian Raven

PS: If you're wondering where the 2.375 number is coming from; that is the absolute highest value you can achieve in the first four equations for values A,B,C & D. Hence, the highest QB Rating is 158.3.

So even with help from the sidelines, the Jets still couldn't win. Oh how I hope this team goes 9-7 for the third year in a row. I'm so tired of the Jet Media Circus. But hey, as long as Loud Mouth Rex is their coach, the media's going to be hanging on every word.

You know what sucks. Right now three teams that I don't want to see make it to the playoffs are battling for that last spot right now. San Diego, Colts and Jets.

As much as I hate the Jets, I kinda wouldn't mind seeing them get in at the last spot. Maybe they'll show up against their divisional rivals the patriots. I think I'd rather have the Jets over the Colts/San Diego. Ofcourse watch San Diego win their division and the Colts make it in on the wild card.

Colts won't catch the Jags.

San Diego is always one & done.

Jets, spite their recent games, are too unpredictable. You never know which Jets are going to show up.

I'd prefer SD.

There may be dissension brewing within the team after Rex's latest criticisms in the media (LINK)

I guess Rex being blunt isn't always a good thing. Remember when Trent Dilfer gave Brian Billick props for preventing the defense from resenting the offense for having to carry the team during the Ravens' 2000 Super Bowl run? This is the opposite result. This isn't the byproduct of just one bad loss, this has probably been brewing for a little while now.

This is hilarious, considering how well their defense played. To have won that game, they'd have to had held Miami to 0 total offensive yards and 0 points. Face it Rex, you need some sort of offense to win games, and it'd obvious Sanchez isn't your Sanchize.

It's one thing for a team to fall below expectations but when a good amount of those expectations were set by the organization itself, it's just hilarious.

Rex Ryan looks great when the Jets are winning. Looks terrible in defeat, though. That's expected and is usually the case when you run your mouth before, during, and after the games. Turmoil in that locker-room only makes me smile.

As Ray Lewis would say, "the game ain't played through tongues"

As I said on the previous page....

Sanchez = Leinart 2.0

I can't believe it only took Rex 2 years to make this team implode, I thought it would have been next year.

Rex is a great defensive coordinator but not suited to be a Head Coach.

It's good to see Rex is defending his li'l pride and joy Sanchez so much. What's his excuse going to be if they miss the playoffs? Especially after all that boasting before the season even started about our "future world champions". You'd think Rex would learn to keep his mouth shut at least a little bit by now, but that just wouldn't be "Rex". Instead they'd rather not win or lose with grace and dignity.

As I've said numerous times, none of us would care and this would all be a non-issue in the media if Rex didn't run his mouth so much. It's one thing to be brutally honest, it's another thing to suffer from diarrhea of the mouth.

I know there have been plenty of quarterbacks that struggle early on in their careers and become great quarterbacks. But I've never seen one with as bad of accuracy as Sanchez and fix it.

Sanchez right now is 29th in the league in accuracy. 4% points behind Jason Campbell. Luckily he's beating Jimmy Clausen and Derek Anderson. Something to hang his hat on.

Steve Young is the only guy I can think of right now who's pulled it off, but it took him several years and the tutelage of the great Bill Walsh to make it happen. Rex Ryan, Brian Schottenheimer, and QB coach Matt Cavanaugh (yes, that Matt Cavanaugh) are no Bill Walsh.

It's funny because a lot of people dog on Flacco. "He always overthrows recievers...etc" but he is 11th in the league in accuracy. Sanchez makes throws where they just aren't "overthrows", the ball goes into a different dimension. It's going to be tough for Sanchez to correct the issue. The NFL is a different ballgame than USC. You have to be able to hit that very tight window, not just hit the open guy.

If it weren't for Holmes, Sanchez would probably be 32nd in accuracy, and the Jets wouldn't even be in playoff contention. That trade might have saved their season. I say "might have" because they could still blow it. I'd love to see the Jets end the 2010 season on a 5 game skid and missing the playoffs.

I don't know about you guys but I'd like to beat them in the playoffs. Then again, there are a lot of teams I'd like to beat in the playoffs, but you can only face 3... :(

Here's something interesting:
Sanchez has dipped below 50% completion four times this year, with his lowest being 38.6% against Miami. He's only gone 60% and above twice, with 70% being his highest against New England.

Flacco has dipped below 50% once, that being 43.6% against Cincinnati. He's gone 60% and above seven times, with 77.1% against New England being his highest.
