Questions For The Haters And Ney Sayers

What does Cam and the Ravens have to do Monday night to make you think they are on the right path?

Dont tell me "Just win" they have won eight games and so many are hating on them right now.

Run 80% to pass 20% ? More ? Less?

More trick plays? Less trick plays?

Flacco has to yell and kick a puppy on the side line?

What do you hope to see Monday that will have your fist in the air yelling "Yeah Ravens!! "?

Call a good game and make in game changes. Stick with what's working and play 4 quarters. Eat clock when we should eat clock, but don't sit on 3, 7 and 10 point leads as if they're sufficient. And WIN!!! :)

Double TE sets with Dickson and Pitta....lots of 4 wide and spread the freakin ball! Maybe throw McGahee and Rice split in the backfield and confuse the hell out of their D.

Oh yeah, and WIN!!

I speak for everyone when I say yes... yes Joe has to kick a puppy (specifically Cam's puppy) for us to believe this team is on the right track.

Secondly, I cannot see anyone putting their fist in the air while yelling "Yeah Ravens!" What can of absurd reaction is that?

I'm not a Cam-hater, I know he's one of the best OC's out there. Truthfully, he probably can't do anything to silence all of the nay-sayers. Plays will go wrong, play-calls (if they fail) will be questionable, and a big game will be dismissed (by some) as the Texans having a poor defense. That said, I'm hoping he and our offense come out big and whoop the Texans.

Agreed. While some of the things people get upset with Cam about are out of his control, the biggest (and most valid argument) is how content he is with 3-10 point leads... especially early on in the game against good teams. That is on him.

I have a very specific thought that I always had in mind.

Game is on 13-10. We are on the lead. Time is 2 minute into the 3rd quarter. Just when the Steelers thought they have their defense going on all cylinders after a successful sack to Joe Flacco, Joe and Anquan hooks up for a 32 yard drive to make a touchdown. Steelers offense comes back, Suggs raunch on him. With only 20 seconds of Rothliseburger, Steelers defense comes back. Joe kick it to the steelers to make a 93 yard drive with a no-huddle offense. Steelers are out of breath. Game 27-13. We win the Houston Texans and make our well-deserved playoff Birth onto week 15.

not only that, he gets away from the running game way to early, and even when its working and effective, like if rice starts running 7, 8, 10 yards a pop, CAM will decide 'ha, maybe i should outsmart myself and start passing'

What does this have to do with anything in this topic...? This isn't the "What Should Baltimore Have Done to Beat Pittsburgh?" thread.

I say kick a puppy and yell on the side lines!! Then send James Harrison the fine!! Good lord how many times can you chop and screw a topic name to basically come back to the same thing day in and day out? And people talk about other topics being constantly brought up, pots meet kettles lol.

But for real what does it really matter, I mean with four regular season games left all I guess we can hope for is an offensive miracle of what they haven't been able to produce consistently week in and week out. Hell we are 8-4 so we might as well ride it till the wheels fall off!! I know I set my expectations way to high, all in all we are still one of the best with serious inconsistencies and a depleted in need of help 0-line!!

Not doubting that, that's been well-documented. That partially goes on the defense, as well (not against Pittsburgh, though, not their fault), but we need to score points no matter what the scoreboard says.

When the Ravens have Flacco kick a 40 yard field goal with a puppy instead of a ball... PETA will sue the NFL and no one will ever have to worry about the underperforming Ravens offense again.

All Cam has to do to appease, not only me, but probably many fans is call a game where he's not sitting on a teeny, tiny lead. I wouldn't think that'd be that hard. I'm not even one of those people who hold Cam accountable for broken plays, bad passes, or just the usual, run-of-the-mill drop.

Cam needs to come in with a good game plan (which he usually does) but then he needs to make the necessary adjustments in-game (which he almost never does). I want to see our offense be aggressive from the start and then keep being aggressive even if we have the lead. Attack, attack, attack. Impose our will and beat down the other team when we are able to do so. Not impose our will until we have a 3 - 10 pt lead and then just sit there. More importantly, I want to see that wrist thingy with the plays on it sitting on Flacco's wrist. Let him audible out if he sees something at the line. And some no-huddle, hurry up offense from time to time. We walk around out there waiting for the play from the sidelines like the game lasts 120 mins and not 60. I am not one of the mind that we should be running more or passing more. For me, it is more situational. Cam has been passing when he should be running (Cincy game anyone? Plus with 3:40 left in the Steelers game) and running when he should be passing (NE game anyone?). It's just got to stop. If I only go "What? Cam needs to go!" once or twice throughout the game and not the entire 2nd half, then I'd say we're heading in the right direction.

A 60 minute appearance from our offense would be good. In other words, make the necessary adjustments when (if) their D begins to tighten up on how we start the game. Thats the one main problem I have with Cam, is that little or no adjustments are made and we end up stalling and not increasing leads.

First of all, I will tell you what I don't want to see.
1.) A delay of game penalty inside the redzone- it shows indecision in the play calling
2.) Flacco getting to the LOS with 5 seconds left
3.) False starts
4.) The same play calls with the same personnel I have seen for the last 8 games - Ex. when McGahee comes out, design a pass play to him. Every defense knows we are running when he's behind Flacco

What I do want to see
1.) Tempo, if that involves a no huddle O, then so be it
2.)A mix of run and pass, need to keep running so the play action works
3.) Fast receivers on deep outs more often- Don't send the slower guys
4.)Get Rice involved early, and don't shelf him after we are up by 3 or 7
5.) Specifically target and get the ball in the hands of our playmakers early and often
6.)More plays across the middle, its always open

Excellent points ,

A few more I would add, I don't want to see a quarterback sneak on 2 and 1.

I want to see crossing patterns and more than one receiver for endzone passes.

I want to see Joe , come to the line with enough time to read a defense and have the ability to opt out if it is needed.

I want to see the Offense line beat the defensive line off the ball.

I want to see opened holes for Ray.

If Cam uses an offset line then I want to see protection blocking on the short side.

In other words I want to see a real working offense. Real Protection for the quarterback, and real blocks for the run. I want to see receivers get opened and solid passing from Joe. No back-foot passing crap. Option plays play action, and an opened running game that keeps Huston guessing whats next.

I am just tired of watching Cam the Choke Master - Choke.

Well winning nullifies any bad decisions he makes on monday night. I'd prefer to see Flacco reach 300 yards passing, which he's only done once this whole season and that was 301 at Carolina. I'd prefer to see Rice average AT LEAST 4 yards per carry. I'd also like to see us not fumble. Now if our O line is getting beaten down again, we better see some mobility out of Flacco. He's really careful with the football on the run and he really never tries to force things anymore when he's on the run.

But again, the only thing we NEED to do is win.

That is pretty much the only thing wrong with Cam Cameron. Otherwise, the perceived problems that he has are ones that offensive coordinators all over the league have in spades: not utilizing all their weapons "properly," not being aggressive enough, being too conservative, not running enough, not passing enough, <insert-your-problem-here>

Point is, to find something new to complain about each week is to demand perfection -- something that, honestly, people will just have to lose sleep over because that goal is impossible. There's a difference between having standards and nit-picking.

TRICK PLAYS WOO HOO! I would eat it up if we started busting out trick plays and win like 40-14.

I would like to see Cam stick with what is working, that is something he doesn’t do so well. The team is 8-4 and has made the play-offs the past two seasons. This season after the cry of needing weapons, face it, Cam has them and is doing a much worst job of managing the game, any game and every game. As an ex-coach of a different sport I am never the wave hands in the air fan but am always looking to see how the team can become better.

It seems Cam out-thinks himself far too often by playing chess with the opposing coach. Cam needs to trust his offense on the field and not try to consistently out guess the opponent. Just do what the team does best and leave the guessing for the opponents’ coach to ponder. He has the weapon, let the men on the field do their thing.
