Yea tell me about it.... Played four games last night... Every game each person quit out before the start of the fourth and in one i was only up by 7. ...
The best one though was back to back pick six's by reed to put me ahead by seven Haha

Yep same here. The only time I log in to Madden online is to get the updated Roster. To me online play has ruined sports games.

That's why I don't play online anymore. I tried a few years back and it just pissed me off. If I were losing, I'd bear it out to the end. But it seemed everytime I was winning, the other team would disconnect.

Same here. Also I feel like the computer is better competition anyways. I feel like online you run into punks that find one play that works and just keep using it over and over.

I agree with you, I mean yeah the AI has some stupid calls on defense and may not adjust, but they are still competitive. I remember when we use to just sit back & enjoy Madden on the PS2 when the internet wasn't as big as it is today. Now every glitch is pointed out by people on Youtube and people just can't really enjoy the game because of whatever glitch they decided to spend time finding. The time they spent trying to find glitches could have been used to just actually ENJOY THE GAME!

Sure the PS2 Maddens, and even the ones now on PS3 have glitches but people didn't care, sure I can get a occasional glitch where the ball goes through a players hand, body, or something wacky but I enjoy the game, and don't really bother with the glitches.

1.) Nano-Blitzing; man-up, play some real football
2.) Scrambling QBs; seems like every handler wants to be Michael Vick
3.) Repeat Plays; my five-year-old has more initiative
4.) Quitters; bottom of the barrel, IMO

These are the kind of people that want a gold-star & a hug every time they do something right. "Oh, you put your shoes on the right feet? Congratulations!"

I remember a couple years back I was playing some guy in Madden 05 and he was clobbering me like 28-0 by halftime and he was like "Would you like me to let you respectfully quit?" and I was like "No I am going to figure this out eventually." Maybe it was insanity but you aren't going to learn to win by giving up early.

I played 5 games, in those 5 games -- 4 people quit by the end of the first quarter, the other quit during the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter didn't bother me so much, the others drove me insane. Have a look ::

1.) Ravens @ Colts; 10-0 Ravens -- First Quarter -- Quit
2.) Ravens @ Colts; 0-0 -- First Quarter -- Quit (probably because I had 3 INTs at that point and was ready to kick a FG)
3.) Bears @ Ravens; 10-3 Ravens -- First Quarter -- Quit
4.) Ravens @ Colts; 17-6 Ravens -- First Quarter -- Quit
5.) Ravens @ Colts; 24-13 Ravens -- Fourth Quarter (:35 left; after a turnover on downs)

Anyone else feel they should get rid of the "quit" option & allow more time for players to rejoin games if they get booted? I do. If they did that, I'd consider staying on and playing.

I never give up when I'm playing Madden. But I only play in my online franchise with people who play sim and don't quit.

Today I played someone from my online franchise in an unranked game. I was down 28-6 in the 4th quarter. Came back with a 1:20 left, down by 8. Kicked an onside kick, RECOVERED, went on to score and get the 2 pts. Went into overtime. Punted. He punted. Got the ball back, kicked a FG and won. I scored 22 pts in the 4th so I never give up.

Joe Flacco was my leading rusher with 116 yards hhaah. AVG 14.7 per carry. I didn't mean to run with him, but I wish you guys could have seen the lanes I had. One carry was for 25 yards and a TD. He played EVERYONE in coverage leaving no one for Flacco. But I tried to pass and everyone was covered so I took off running. Not very sim to run like that, but I had nobody to throw to.

I played the Steelers in my online franchise too and lost, but had a 22 pt surge in the 4th as well. I play well in the 4th haha. Not too mention in another online franchise game, I passed a deep ball to Malcolm Kelly (down 4) against the Bengals as time expired for a TD and the win. Flacco is clutch!

I don't give up unless I'm losing by 21 with something like 2 minutes left, and even than I ask the opponent to concede defeat.

The people that really tick me off are the ones winning by 21+ points with 1 minute left, and they actually call timeouts. Boy is that frustrating. One of the main reason I don't really play online anymore.

i hate how everyone wants to play as the eagles now, at least thats what I've seen. they will do play action, roll out, and then run with Vick....ALL THE TIME. like every play. i usual play as the ravens and i like to control Ngata, he cant catch vick,unless he gets the right angle. so vick takes off running and usually gets 20-30 yards. that game was a pain, i was down something like 21-3 and still came back and i think the final was something like 48-46

Corner blitz answers all your problems. Idiots will run right into it.

Blitz when they least expect it. I've been killing Vick players lately.

Best defense for anything (including 5-wide shotgun) is 3-4 2-deep man coverage. Spread LBs. Press coverage. Squeeze D-line (I mean REALLY squeeze... like zero room in between) and reblitz RE and NT, and audible LE to spy wide left.

3-4 means there are no nickels or dimes who can't tackle, and the Man coverage will help when they run the ball. And your DL will be squeezed while your LBs are containing, so try finding the right hole to run through in that mess.

Blitzing just doesn't matter in Madden but it's almost always a TD when the WR has 1-on-1. Contain. Contain. Contain. That's the name of the game. After that, stopping the Vick-nubs come naturally.


Edit: I forgot to add that one of your ILBs will already be spying the QB in this formation by default.

And yes, this is a lot of pre-snap work, but this is what the great ones do.

I'd have to disagree with that. I play ALOT of 1-on-1 coverage and I don't get beat very often. Blitzing is almost necessary to do at the right time or people who use teams with stout QBs like Peyton and Vick will tear your defense apart. As far as coverage I play to people's tendencies since almost everybody online has them.

To each their own, I guess. Blitzing just seems pointless to me because everyone who plays is in "4-down-territory" mode. You got a sack? Great! Now, do it 3 more times in succession.

Plus a simple crossing route will destroy Cover-Zero defenses.

You could always nano-blitz with just 3 guys which'll cause more chaos than just sending all the dogs.

I'm just a stickler at keeping 2-deep.

i dont play to much anymore myself. i find the gameplay not bad, but the loser who feels like he is something special when he wins thaat he has to send u a messege saying ur trash, or u suck or blow or blah blah blah, its funny really, or the best is the dude he talks trash during the game cuz hes up by 2 scores and then ends up losing haha, love that
