Heinz Ward Is A Hypocrite

63 posts in this topic

Whiney Hiney is the most annoying player in the NFL.

Not only does he cheap shot every chance he gets, play dirty whenever he can but then has the nerve to moan when people give him a taste of his own medicine. He, as a football player, sickens me.

Karma's gonna hit Hines like a TRUCK.

I dislike him more than anyone, but I don't think I could ever applaud someone getting injured or hurt. Just classless in my opinion. Now if he got into a fight like Johnson/Finnegan and got his @zz whooped, I would cheer that.
Call me classless. I would love to see him injured and carted off the field.

#86 is ghetto. So was Porter and #92 borderlines as a dirty player. Do you shake hands with the thug on the street who stares down your girlfriend, undressing her with his eyes?
WAKE UP!

I think Hines Ward needs to be punished for his crimes, because this is not the first year of his wickedness..
i think the NFL should suspend him for a whole year!

It's a conspiracy. The Steelers only sign "dirty players, " without the refs we'd never win a thing and the league front office hates the Ravens. Shhhh.

I don't think I ever said that. It was a blatant cheap shot to the back of Lewis and Harrison is complaining about things our second string lineman trying to do to injure him? Please. I can't stand Ward, never have, and I'd love nothing more to see him get injured, badly.

I'm just saying how I feel.

What's his role have to do with anything. You can recognize and condemn one act but not the other? And they call ME "homer."

Not a conspiracy. But, when a player that his peers call the dirtiest one in the game hits a team's aging superstar from behind, you have to expect some chatter. Some of it less than classy, but still just chatter.

I agree. And that's all I'm doing. ;)

I shouldn't neglect to point our that if I'm active on here, it's because work is slow (and my homework is done).....and that happens a lot.

They were asleep when our QB got his nose busted; asleep when he took a late hit and asleep when our TE took a devastating blow to the helmet too.
Then I guess they were asleep when Harrison upended Young and slammed him head first into the turf. And again on the Cribbs hit. And again on the Massaquoi hit. Harrison has not been drawing flags but fines. As McClain did as well. And rightly so. Now, the amount of the fine is another matter altogether but I think there's already a thread discussing that specific incident.

Edit: Back to topic, here is the thing. Hines Ward leads with his helmet all the time. It is as Ed Reed says, he should not be exempt simply because he is an offensive player.

Not talking about the ball carrier though. We're talking about blocking situations. Which is what Reed was talking about as well.

Actually, what Reed said goes more to what Harrison is complaining about. That he is being "singled out". Reed just said that if they are going to target defensive players, than blocks like that should not be allowed by offensive players either.

And, has Reed complained at all previous to this? No. Has Harrison? Yes. Has Ward? Yes. Have the Steelers as a team? Yes. So I guess after awhile, with so much complaining it becomes whining.

Harrison has whined repeatedly about fines/being made an example of by the NFL.

Ed Reed has complained once about Hines Ward trying to cheap shot him.

Big difference.

The NFL did change the rule as a result of the Keith Rivers injury (still see nothing wrong with that block). But helmet-to-helmet in that regard is still legal so Hines is well within his right there. But, I don't have an issue if Reed wants it to be fair all around.

Considering the NFL's consistency with fining Harrison and inconsistency elsewhere, I'd say his argument holds more water. Plus, he's since adjusted. If the guy didn't care about how he was viewed, he would change or complain.

So yes, big difference indeed.

Like I always say, Hines Ward has no honor on the football field. His goal is to hit you really hard when you aren't looking, even if the play won't be impacted. There are times when he could just block someone, and it wouldn't even be a block that's important to the play, but instead he tries to hit them in the head area. That speaks to his character, and his respect for the other players on the field as people. How many other players are involved in plays like that? He has his own unique style of dirty play, and that's why he's the dirtiest player in football. You can call it being physical on offense, I've never seen Boldin do something like that.

It's not Hines' job to make sure you are looking. He could have crushed Lewis if he wanted (and in the head) but he didn't. He lit up Ed Reed while Ed was facing him. His hit on Keith Rivers was shoulder to shoulder.

And unless you've only recently began watching FB, then you should know that Hines isn't alone in devastating hits. Warren Sapp crushed Chad Clifton on a block. Ray Lewis has done it, Ed McCaffery probably had the best one and that was in a Super Bowl.

The point is, you hate Hines Ward. He's in your division and you see him more. You're not going to tell me that you watch every other player in every other game. I'm not sure how much you follow NFL news and highlights during the week, but they are there.

There also used to be a segment on ESPN called "JACKED UP." They used to highlight hits like this all the time and Hines was not frequently highlighted as you might think.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE having a WR who forces DB's and LB's to have THEIR heads on a swivel. LOVE IT!!

I agree with the inconsistency, and whether McClain meant to or not is a mute point, in relation to what the NFL is doing all year that is a penalty and should have been flagged. I know as soon as it happened I was like "frick me, just gave them a first down for a nothing hit", then I was like hell we just caught a break.

If the NFL is going to actually attempt to take away some of the viciousness of the game at least be consistent, regardless if its the best and most physical rivalry in the game. Its like they want the Ravens/Steelers to bring them the oldschool, bar room brawl game twice a year and praise the hell out of it...but for the rest of the season they want the spread offense, protect everyone's gitch from streak marks, and make sure nobody gets hit too hard.

What does a deaf persons point of view have to do with this? BTW, its moot :)

Maybe the next time we play the Steelers our WR's should go all out looking for dirty hits on every single play. I wonder how well Polamalu would play if he took a blind shot to the jaw from Boldin.
