Braylon "stonehands" Edwards

21 posts in this topic

It's not like we need further proof about how much of an idiot Braylon Edwards is but every chance I get to see the guy act and whine like a moron.. I gloat at it.

“They embarrassed us on purpose,” Edwards said, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I don’t want to say that they ran it up, but at the end of the day, they ran it up,”

Hell yea they did. Its' the NFL baby. Either come to play or be prepared to be ran up on. Every team is on an even playing field. This is pee-wee football or college football where teams have unfair advantages.

Can't say I've ever heard a superbowl winner complaining that somebody "ran the score up."

The Jets did a great job of embarrassing themselves and got what they deserved. If you're going to talk trash, then you better bring your "A" game, especially against Belichick and the Patriots. If you don't want the score run up, then your defense can't have an epic fail on the field.

Also, to critics of the Patriots that say they shouldn't have run up the score...what would everyone be saying if the Patriots had let up and allowed the Jets to come back to win? Stranger things have happened. Sure, it's not likely that the Jets can score more than 42 points in one full quarter to tie and then take the lead, but it's never out of the realm of possibility. Now, had this been less than 4 minutes left in the game, that's a different story entirely. But 15 game minutes is a long, long time and things can change in an instant with only a few big plays here and there.

I honestly don't think it matters when they score. There's no such thing as running up the score in the NFL to me; especially when it's a division rival, first place is on the line and it's a team that has done nothing but talk all year. Granted the Jets are still a good team but you set yourself up for these types of losses when you go about your season like they have... it's the Miami Heat effect basically. I don't see anything wrong with the score and they could have put up 60 if they wanted to.

The other point to this article I wanted to bring out is that Braylon is an idiot. =]

"They embarrassed us on purpose"? As opposed to embarrassing you "on accident"?

Some NFL players should just be barred, for their own sake, from talking to the media.

Hey Braylon, maybe your "best in the league" defense should have stopped the Pats. Or maybe your offense should have actually put up some points against a bottom of the barrel Patriots defense. What does that say about your team on both sides of the ball.

Exactly I agree with that. There is no such thing as running up the score. To me it's called Finishing Teams. As you said momentum can change with 1 big play and so if you can score as many points as possible while your defense keeps the other offense in check, you played a complete game. Personally, I wouldn't care what people would say if the Ravens somehow went out the next 3 games and score over 42 points in each of those games, because not only is it finishing the other team but also the opposing defense just couldn't stop them.

Hilarious

I like one of the guys' comment from the OP's link

"Edwards should Please be quiet., like all the other Jets and their fans...Rex should have buried the team instead of the football. Jets beat a bunch of sub .500 teams, and prance and strut like they actually accomplished something. They threw out the Ravens game (10-9), because they lost by 1 point, and in Jet logic, that's a win, disregarded the GB game (9-0), and now they bury the NE game (45-3). By the end of the season, they'll be wondering how they missed the playoffs with a perfect record...LOL...same ole Jets... "

PS: I wish Cam have the same mentality of the Pats offense...Finishing off your opponent, and it's been the problem for us for no killer instinct. We're too soft in second half. Cam shoulda make a dvd of the Jets and Patriots for his own sake.

I really gained respect for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady this season. Absolutely destroyed the Steelers and Jets, they have the best record in a "rebuilding" year defensively, and guess what? They have two draft picks in each of the first four rounds next season. They can do whatever they want in the next few years. Prepare to be frustrated, Rex.

It seems like the Ravens don't have as much trouble with them. Yeah, they beat us, but it's always close. I'm guessing that we're the team they'd least like to see in the AFCCG or divisional round, I'm sure they were happy to see us lose to the Steelers. That being said, I'm sure they're confident that they can beat anyone.

Hey, hey, hey. Don't you be putting us in the same sentence as those sorry Jets. We lost by a respectable 13 points. The Jets lost by 42!

Yeah, the Jets offense was just terrible though. The Steelers were able to sorta keep up, but the Pats had their way with both teams' defenses.

Yeah, its not like NE was in a prevent with a commanding lead (24-3 starting the 4th Qtr) and you guys didn't score 23 of your 26 in the 4th :D

Sorry Wardy, couldn't resist since I'm still bitter.....

I was watching the Dan Patrick show this morning and he had Warren Sapp on talking about this game and said there is no running up the score in the NFL. You either show up or get beat.

In my opinion, running up the score is something sore losers say to try to validate and throw attention off their loss. After all, they can't say "Hey, we were horrible. It is what it is.". Especially with "the best defense in the league" on your team giving up 45 points.
