Rookie Mini-camp

I can't wait for the Rookie Mini-Camp this weekend and I am really excited to see our newest draftees in action.. That being said, how much of actual football practice generally goes on during these camps and will we get to see Flacco, Rice, and the rest run the offense and play defense (non-contact of course)? Also, do the players have to be signed as I am guessing Flacco won't be for a little while...

I dont think they have to be signed to take part in the mini camp. I think they do have to be signed by training camp. I am pretty excited about our draft class. Oz always drafts well.

Its stuff like Mini-Camps and Training Camps that make me sad I not only live on the wrong side of the country from the Ravens, but also that the LA area doesn't have a football team that I could just go to and enjoy the atmosphere of the Camps with the teams. I guess I'll have to experience it through photos and videos for now.

Me and you both CARavensFan... I live on a island.. I gotta watch vids on our team just to have somewhat of an experience. Ive watched almost all the new stuff that came out that Ive gone back to watching the 2006 season and back on NFL.coms vids. I hope they post vids of the rookies during the camps.

Lots of rookies around the NFL already went through their rookie mini camp in the past few days and none of them (except for the UDFA's) are signed yet.

The players get special insurance coverage for participating prior to signing their contracts.

Yay its kinda exciting, the new stadium looks sweet!!

But on topic: I'll be interested to see (that which I can online that is) how Flacco messes with the offense along with the new taller WRs.

i wouldn't worry. there will be plenty of coverage in the local papers and on BR.com. everybody wants to know how the rookies do.

I have been reading/hearing that all of our rookies have had good practices thus far, but as Coach Cam said yesterday this isn't really football yet and we will really be able to evaluate progress come Training Camp

Rookie Camp isn't the time to truly evaluate the talent of these kids. Its the time to break them in for actual training camp. Sure some of them will impress and some of them will dissappoint, but no huge desicions regarding their futures will be made. They will be learning our system while working their butts off so they can attempt to keep up with the vets.
