No Audibles Built Into Cam's Offense - Confirmed By Players

What did you think of last night's playcalling?
I thought Cam did a really good job of play calling last night. It's hard for any OC to call a great game with the amount of pressure that the offensive line allowed Monday night.

Cam give this offensive line, every opportunity to come out and establish things up front and they failed. Flacco got absolutely killed last night, and the fact that he was able to complete almost 70% of his passes for throw for 2TDs and not picks speaks to just how well Flacco is playing right now.

I just thought Cam did a great job, but his players have to give him an opportunity to call more then 16 plays in the second half,

By QB standards, Joe is no veteran.
But Joe called himself elite!

No problem with that. He looked elite at times last night but in classic Flacco fashion, he looked woefully average at times too. Not that his line helped but he was pretty slow in the second half.

Im not sure what the big deal is with not doing audibles everytime at the los. Granted I would like to see flacco with a play sheet on his wrist but in time he will be fine with just having experience.

Overall, I didnt mind the play calling. I would have preferred to see a run on the 3rd and 2 play, but again, as a whole, I liked the agressiveness in the play calling. I think the overall success of the offense is being diluted by the lack of offensive possession in the second half. The defense just could not get off the field.

Since you're the question/poll man, how about you give us your review of the play calling last evening?

wow thats brutal, thats not even good football, no audibles, no wonder saftey off the edge never gets blocked, i was just thinkin the other night against huston then joe needs to recognize that and check it or call an audible, guess i know y hes doesnt haha, cam sux, this offense can do more, solid recievers a qb that isnt afraid and 2 solid backs with a pro bowl lead blocker at fb, and how come all the o lineman r in the 80s and 90s in madden if they r so bad hahahahaha

Heh, Schaub only made half of his passes! But that's still 31 passes he did make for 393 yd... :bag:

Dear Cam, running a no huddle offense when leading won't kill anybody (of course, except our opponent)

Please do it, Joe Flacco is a rhythm QB. You force him to get out of his rhythm when you are up a touchdown or two. Just keep on being aggressive

Ohhh nice turkey connection!

I like how people are still placing blame on Flacco for Polamalu coming unblocked.
I don't know who this statement is directed towards, but I guess my only thought was why couldn't Joe signal to Michael that he needed to block Troy instead of Harrison since Oher obviously didn't recognize it himself?

I believe it was to Tiznut, too long ago and I don't really remember. And signalling for Oher to block Polamalu reveals blocking schemes and wastes time that the Ravens didn't have. Oher should've heard it the first time, everyone else did. It was a mistake on his part.

dear cam we'd like to put up more than 2 TD's through the air vs one of the worst Pass D's in the league when your receiving corp consists of 3 former pro bowlers and one of the fastest human beings on earth.

Try telling those great WRs not to drop long 75 yard TDs and the offensive line to give better protection and you wish might just be granted.

And we have a winner....I love smart, thoughtful posts, not just "hey cam, you suck" with no facts to back them up!

Tough to put up points through the air when when the o-line and two of the backs have their ups and downs in pass protection.

Time to bring in someone new and to give Flacco some freedom to call and change plays when the game is on the line, there were a few times today where the steelers knew it was a run like when McGahee was out there and we need to be able to change the play rather than lose yards or gain nothing.

Joe has recently this season demonstrated higher overall rating and consistancies.
Audibles are favorable when the situation calls for improvisation and spontaneous adjustment with the defensive-line.

Flacco is not always in his element, to change up with confidence. This may be the result of poor coaching communications and inspirationall leadership, micro-management or other.

Certainly, Flacco has arrived at a time where he should beable to make fluid audibles.
