We're 8-4.
The closest competition for the #6 WC spot is 6-6 giving us a 2 game pad.
We haven't been embarrassed like the Jets once this season.
We finally found our pass rush even though Mattison misplaced it in the 2nd half. I'm sure he'll find it again. Ahem.
We haven't even come close to our potential yet, and we're still 8-4.
The Steelers aren't really playing good football (one sack/fumble away :( ) so they COULD lose to the Bengals, Jets or Browns. Perhaps even 2 of them.
We went to the SB in 2000 as a WC team.
Even when we lose, I still look really good in Ravens' purple. :)

Joe has helped the Ravens win games without a running game and with Rice leading the NFL in YAC like he did last season. That is 100% proof he has progressed from the last two seasons.

I'll say it again, at least we aren't the Jets!
[/quote]

Jets have talked so much trash that every team is gunning for them and its like a mini SB to shut up Rex.

I am positive we are not going to win the division. :lolpoof: Sorry. I had to.

I am still hopeful. It was a depressing loss, but we were not embarrassed and kept it close. And the SB is still a real possibility, just harder now. The Ravens like it hard.

I love my team but am not sure I'm not sure many Ravens see the Ravens as "Super Bowl-bound" at this point.

did you miss the "could-be" part?

The best part about losing to the Steelers? Ravens are forced into taking the wild card! (unless the next couple of games go really bad for pittsburg). What does that mean though?

That means I get to watch 1 extra Raven's game than I would have on their way to the SB!

Quite frankly, I get pretty disappointed with bye weeks, watching other teams just doesn't quite cut it for me.

I thought the "could-be" simply applied to the undefeated part. My mistake.

Haha, ER20, I always see the Ravens as a Super Bowl bound team. I'm a moron, I know lol.

Ha, JenJen you have no idea. Most of the people here are pretty optimistic but also realistic. But every once in awhile you need a thread like this so people like me can be delusional about the team.

Once Cam is gone, I am excited about...
1. Flacco's potential
2. Boldin retiring as a Raven
3. Stallworth contributing more on offense and special teams
4. Housh retiring as a Raven when Mason retires after this season
5. Dickson developing as a top ten TE with Pitta not far behind
6. Grabbing a great LT and switching Oher back to RT and watching our relatively young OL grow old together
7. Picking up one shutdown corner from somewhere
8. Watching Ray Rice retire a Raven
9. Watching LeRon retire a Raven
10. Watchin Cody take Greggs spot in the next year or so
11. Watching Ellerbe peak his head out of the doghouse and take over for Ray Ray
12. Watching Sergio make a miraculous comeback to become one of the best LBs in the game

My silver lining is actually purple. If you had told me before the season that we'd split with Pittsburgh I would've said okay. Even if it feels like 100 losses it still only counts as 1. We're a clumsy and struggling offense, but we're 8-4, and people act like we're not a fanbase that has always had a somewhat clumsy, somewhat struggling offense, and rarely did it carry us to 8-4. We're good, guys. Got vets, got kids, got weapons, got beasts. I've been moving around for years on the east coast, and been going to sports bars all along the way. The public opinion of the Ravens has changed very significantly over that time. I know that matters less than what happens on the field, but one is the direct result of the other. Great time to be a Ravens fan!

I'm with John. I'm still proud of this team and have been of this organization since its inception.

Do you guys remember when we couldn't throw the ball farther than 10 yards? Or what about last year where we couldn't cover anybody without getting PI calls. Its the ebbs and flows of a football organization. And we are in a good spot. Sure we aren't meeting most people's "personal expectations", but if you look at the big picture its a much different story.

At least we are sitting in playoff contention, yet another year. *sigh*

At least the Steelers shouldn't get far in the playoffs. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

OT: But I need to get that picture of Roethlisberger standing on the sideline right after we scored. Blood on his jersey, crap shoved in his nose, and with a dumb look in his face.

I am going to put that on a t-shirt and have it say "Say no to stupid"
