Positive Thread

I'm tired of hearing all this negative talk! We have a great football team and are in the heat of the playoff race.

Lets TRY to keep this thread on the topic of POSITIVE things about the ravens.

Positives: Suggs is resurgent this year, Flacco looks more and more like he's developing into a top-10 qb, Q is better than I could have ever hoped he'd be, we've lost by less then a touchdown in all of our losses.

Joe is developing(even though some seem to think he isnt), Q is a monster, Ngata has been an All-Pro, Suggs has put together a Pro Bowl year so far, Cundiff is a cyborg and Koch is a stud.

EDIT: Almost forgot Heap. The hamstring injury is really unfortunate because he's been great all season.

Joe Flacco is becoming a very good quarterback, Anquan Boldin was worth the draft picks and money, Suggs is redeeming himself, Ngata is down right amazing and we're (most likely) going to make the playoffs for a third year!

Just adding some other things to what's already been said:

- Ed Reed coming back and playing at a high level from the get-go. He could even make the Pro Bowl this year which is crazy after missing the first 6 games. Then again, it's Ed freakin' Reed, a.k.a. one of the greatest safeties of all-time.

- Our supposedly "shoddy" secondary before the season even started, has played fairly well all season long. I guess that Foxworth injury didn't doom us after all.

- Ray Lewis is still a monster and I can see him still playing for another 3 or 4 years as long as his passion for the game remains.

- We have not played our best football yet, by far, and we're still 8-4.

Flacco is going to become a top-5 QB if not top-3 (knock on wood). I think this Steeler lose was the most important game of the season, seeing how maybe the players are ready to step it up for a full 60 minute game. This is going to be an interesting finish.... GO RAVENS!!

Flacco has solved the Pittsburgh defense, Suggs is a monster and will be for the rest of the year, Boldin is too beast.

On a different note, I just read the BR.com article about Landry. I'm glad he is taking full responsibility for that, being accountable. That's the thing you will always notice about our players when they make mistakes, it's their accountability. They realize their mistakes and I really trust that they will do what they can to fix them.

Can't wait for us to obliterate the Texans

Anyone see Ray after Ward blocked him on playbook, when Ray got up and grabbed him I thought he was going to tear his head off.

Even if we blow them out with a Offensive explosion, most people with say it is because of the Texan's poor defense. Lets just hope Cam will not let the Texans
stay in the game, their Offense is too explosive to do that.

The Ravens are a solid team, that is improving in defense and special teams as the season goes on. They also have a QB who is confident in his ability and plenty of weapons for him to distribute the ball to. They have yet to peak this season and are healthier than most teams going into stretch run.

They also have just received a wake up call that will force them take a real long look in the mirror and get themselves ready to play their best football in December and January.

we're still getting a lot of respect from "the experts" Ahead of three 9-3 teams in the power rankings. I guess they see the same thing we see. A could-be undefeated superbowl bound team that's still trying to put it all together.

I love my team but am not sure many Ravens fans see the Ravens as "Super Bowl-bound" at this point.

come on this is the positive thread! Super Bowl is still my expectation, if the offense gains some consistency it will become reality. (I know big "if")

I dont think there is another team in the AFC that has the offensive firepower and premier defense that the Ravens have. NE is obviously very very good, but their secondary is decent at best. They have 1 good corner and a lot of ok players.

Its the positive thread. Not the fantasy thread. Lets try to win the division or lock up a playoff spot before we talk superbowl.

Sorry. I just had to share what I've gathered from this board and the radio. I never have and certainly wouldn't venture to less-moderated sites to see what the mood was now.

I agree about the Ravens boasting great offensive firepower but it's about how it's used. NE's D doesn't have many recognizable players but they're very well coached and despite what the rankings say, are very capable of playing good defense. The Ravens are capable of playing great offense but the consistency...*sigh

Staying positive, I think the Ravens put together the longest drive against the Steelers in franchise history on Sunday night.

I dont like the mindset of "lets just get to the playoffs" That is a defeatist attitude. There is no reason why the Ravens cant make the Superbowl, sure it will be harder now but that has to be the goal right?
