J.Johnson is too slow in pass coverage - should play goalline!

I'm seeing Barnes take Johnson's job this year. Then JJ is going to end up being the primary backup to Suggs and to Barnes. Been hearing too many good things about Barnes, especially in terms of him surprising people in coverage. That'll get him on the field.

I agree you might see more JJ in the jumbo short yardage stuff or a goal-line package since he's a huge guy.

Gooden is probably going to be a top interior backup and frankly he might end up pushing Scott out the door once the season is done...

I dont know why we do these polls. We are all biased towards certain players on our team.

I see Brendon Ayanbadejo getting placed there. Brendon, Scott, Lewis, Suggs.

No way, Brendon was brought on for special teams only.

I voted Johnson because he is a veteran player with good tackling but with Rex as DC you know that the LB's will be all over the place in constant rotation.

I thought JJ played Horrable coverage last year, and diddnt do well with rushing the passer, But He does seem to run to the ball and is a good tackler. Barnes did very well rushing the passer.

Especially the Patriots game. Barnes got to Brady once. He also came close a couple of other times but it was too late because Brady was either sacked already or threw the ball right when Barnes got there.

Yep, his speedrushing skills would really be an upgrade.

I'm not too sure if Pryce will be as good as before. Kelly is too fat, but he'll be gone within 2 years. When Ray retires, three years at the most, I think Gooden will move to MLB or Scott will move to MLB, and Barnes will come in. MY prediction in two years for the front seven will be:

DE: Suggs and Pryce

DT: Gress ad Ngata

OLB: Barnes and Gooden/Scott

MLB: Lewis/Gooden/Scott
