If they had a defense that would also help. Moreno was out several weeks with injuries as well. I think if you gave McD the weapons we have on this team, we would really start to explore our real potential as an offense. Right now Cam is losing games.
Moreno is back and Denver's running game is still below average.

Cam is hurting the team but I won't say he's losing games. We really don't know what Cam would do if he was OC here. I'd like to think it'd be better than what Cam has done but we don't know.

Why not give it a try? What does this offense have to lose anyway. It's not like we're playing at the level we should be, and we're losing because of it. At this point in the season, I'm up for anything being done with our offense that doesn't involve Cameron.

We fire Cam, hire McD, see how the offense does (I really don't think it could get any worse with the talent that we have) and we evaluate the situation in the offseason. Cam is losing us games people, our offense just sputters along. We cannot go through that if we want to win it all. I say it's time for a change. After the Atlanta game I said it's time for a change, we've just prolonged a situation that should have been taken care of ever since our talented franchise QB was told he can't audible. Give me a damn break.

There's no guarantee McDaniels would sign with the Ravens.

We have a franchise QB and a Pro Bowl WR.. He likes those :P

Just as long as he doesn't trade them away, I'd be fine with it
I just cant imagine Flacco in a spread offense
honestly, I'd be more concerned about the OL than Flacco in that scenario ... I know you dont think Flacco goes through his reads fast enough, but he did look pretty comfortable (all things considered) last night when we spread them out...

Also, just want to take this opportunity to throw one at the "Flacco stares down his recievers" crowd.

That TD pass to Boldin last night was all Flacco. He looked Boldin off and pulled Polamalu into the corner of the end zone because Polamalu wouldn't take his eyes out of the backfield (looking to get a pick), and Boldin simply turned direction. By the time Hairball looked back at Boldin, Flacco was already delivering the ball for the easy TD.
And can we credit Cameron with Brees' and Rivers' success since you're doing the same for Cassel? Doesn't work that way.
It's interesting you bring that up, because now that I think about, we had a lot in common with the Chargers with Cam Cameron there. Sure we can make the playoffs, but we'll never get that ring.

McD has 3 rings, and coached one of the greatest QBs of all time in the best offense I've ever seen in 2007. That's a guy I would want on my staff.

Sure, bring McD in. He's everything Cam isn't .... Aggressive, proactive, young, knows how to run a passing offense.

You're going to accredit McDaniels with SB rings he earned as a QB coach and "coaching assistant"? Matt Cavanaugh won a ring as the OC, here, does that make him better than Cameron, as well?

Cameron piloted some prolific offenses in SD, too, that has no bearing on what he's doing today, though.

Agreed, remember when we had the "best young offensive line" in the game? Amazing how 1 guy is absent and the whole thing falls apart...how often is Chester going to get straight up rolled on and pancaked in a game before he sacks up?

Bring him in LOL.
Just Joking. Doesnt Belichick call all the plays in new england?
Harbaugh seems too cocky/smug himself to bring in a guy as cocky and arrogant as McDaniels seems to be. I don't see those two personalities working.

But there WILL be a change after the season is over. You know this team was expected to make the playoffs, and will be embarrassed if it doesn't.

Somebody on here once tried to tell me Dean Pees had 3 super bowl rings with the patriots as the LB coach and that made him a better defensive mind that Mattison, as well as being the Pats DC from 07-09...even though Belichick is the DC in New England lol.

If we had an OL capable of getting the single season rushing TD record I'm sure Cam would look like a genius here too, not to mention having one of the greatest running backs to ever lace em up. But the fact still remains, that team couldn't close, and neither can we.

Cavanaugh, lol. We won in spite of that offense. He isn't even half the OC Cam is, but that doesn't change anything. Cam isn't doing his job well enough, and should be replaced. Tell me someone more qualified than McD who is available? Or should we promote from within? Bring on Jim Zorn! Haha.

Haha just flawed logic. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl so he's a better quarterback than Warren Moon and Dan Marino, right?

Belichick is absurdly intelligent. Just freaking amazing the amount of knowledge stored inside that head of his .... I'd love to pick his brain for a day.

Bill wrote an 8 page guide to being a good coach and gave it to McD. He calls it his Bible. I would love to get a look at that.....

How can you just defuse Cameron's accomplishments in SD and give McDaniels credit for running an offense in NE with one of the greatest QBs of all time, one the best WR cores ever, and an excellent OL?

It doesn't go both ways.

I brought up Cavanaugh because you used the ridiculous argument of championship rings as a metric for the worth of an assistant coach.

I'm not a Cam-hater so I don't necessarily think he should be replaced. The offense hasn't been doing a great job but part of that is execution in addition to play-calling.

If Ozzie tries, he can manipulate McD to sign with us....Ozzie is good at that...

Cam is good, but I don't think he's fit to what have talents on board right now.

See what happened when Drew and Rivers left him? They excel. Cam is good OC coach for rookie QB because he teaches them all the fundamentals for playcalls, but when his QBs reach their limit as technique wise, they want to go beyond the basics but Cam restrains them.

PS: Harbaugh has high hopes on Cam and refuses to criticize his OC. That's the problem....When we lose in playoff, he'll learn that Cam is not the right choice.

I don't see Cam getting fired during this season with 4 games to go and the Ravens trying to make a final playoff push. It be determintal to the team because the offense is used to the system, despite it's conservative approach. What has to happen is for John Harbaugh to play a more affirmative role into making sure his coordinators understand what he expects of them. Since he is a special teams specialist, he should try and get Jim Zorn + Al Saunders to help contribute more into the offensive scheme and what the Ravens philosophy should be heading into the final stretch of the season.

Cam has a good resume when it comes to running an offense, he just needs to be reigned in by the head coach to make him understand what he expects of the team and why they should be scoring more points given the level of talent they have on offense. Something is different this season compared to prior ones.

McDaniels might be a good choice, but it be highly unlikely for him to be brought in so quick to understand the offense + players in a short span of time. If the Ravens do not fix their offensive woes going into the Texans game and towards the end of the season + playoffs, then it be time to start looking into a new OC.

Ozzie fleeces people but I don't see what he could do to convince McDaniels to sign here. Personally, I don't want him here.

Exactly. Even withthe offense's conservative play-calling and arguable regression over the season, Joe has still developed as a player this year and will likely continue to grow.
