Chances We Still Win The Division

50 posts in this topic

The Steelers would have to lose against the Bengals next week if we have any chance at winning a tie breaker if we both have the same record. I'm not sure what comes after that....currently they are 3-1 in division, we are 2-2, they'd have to go against the browns again too just like we do. If we win those games and they lose, however unlikely that is we can still win the division.

It's going to take a collapse by the Steelers but it can happen. Their O-line got banged up even more last night and we all saw how they can be beaten. Anything can happen....the Ravens really do make it hard on themselves, every loss excluding the Bengals loss we should have won.

I know one thing, after this loss and how angry the players are, Mason, etc..they are going to destroy Houston on emotions alone. Ravens can win out if they play to their best ability and don't beat themselves anymore!!!!

The truth is that it doesn't matter the Steelers collapse in the end or not, what matter is offensively we need to wake up and adjust to whatever it is to sustain the lead.

The Falcons put the game on Ryan's shoulder last time against us. He ran no huddle and called plays whichever he thought best against the opponent's defense. Why can't Joe do like that?

Cam strangles the offense......

Joe can do it, it is on Cam you are correct. They should let Joe go more no huddle, he seems to play great in those situations.

I really believe we win the game last night if Cam didn't go conservative with runs with 10 minutes left. Also, someone had to pick up that blitz on the drive with the fumble.

There is a chance we can still win the division. The Steelers could easily lose to the Jets and Browns meaning if we win our final 4 we win the division outright. I'm not going to bother thinking about all the tiebreakers.

Let's break it down.

Steelers
Bengals
Jets
Panthers
@Browns

Ravens
@Texans
Saints
@Browns
Bengals

Let's say the Bengals and/or Browns beat the Steelers. That would be a good feat. We would have to beat the Bengals/Browns as well. So basically I'm saying, If the Bengals/Browns are good enough to beat the Steelers then they are good enough to beat us to.

Steelers will definitely roll the Panthers. We need the Jets to win. I see them finishing 3-1 out of the last 4 games.

I look at our schedule and see us going 2-2.

I doubt we will win the division but you never know, this has been a strange season.

I know but I don't think they are healthy enough on defense to win. Lets hope I'm wrong...

Houston has been horrendous on defense, Joe should light them up like christmas has come early. Our defense has been playing much better..we can outscore anyone if Cam will stop going conservative....driving me nuts

The Steelers are hardly infallible . I think if we run the table, we'll have the same record or better as the Steelers. The only problem is that 'running the table' part. We have to play much, much more consistently than we are at the moment.

Well their going up against a heavily injured Steelers OL so they can even out with a bad defense. They also have an offense that can score a lot (barring coaching mistakes) and it's a division game so anything can happen. Hopefully they do us a favor.

Here are the final games remaning for both us and Steelers

Ravens
BAL @ HOU
NO @ BAL
BAL @ CLE
CIN @ BAL

I think we after this loss will be so emotional, that we will just tear the Texans apart. Then we have saints. Brees doesn't do well in cold weather, even though they have gotten lucky in cold weather games.

Steelers
CIN @ PIT
NYJ @ PIT
CAR @ PIT
PIT @ CLE
They will probably beat the Panthers. I can see Rex Ryan and the Jets D tearing that O-line apart. Browns may be able to pull upset against them. and Bengals, well we did give Steelers a hell of a game, so we may have made game easier for Bengals.

Steelers remaining games:

Bengals - A tough division game and the Bengals will, hopefully, be playing for pride to give the Steelers an L. Unfortunately, with the amount of ways that the Bengals have found to lose games this season (except against us...), I doubt they get it done. Prediction: Steelers win.

Jets - I question how good the Jets really are when they should have probably lost 3 out of the last 4 weeks, but regardless they were able to pull those games out and make the plays when it counted. As long as Sanchez takes care of the football then I think the Jets will pull out another close game. Also, Big Ben better hope his foot is feeling better by then because Ryan loves to blitz, A LOT. Prediction: Jets win.

Panthers - The Panthers suck, is there really any explanation needed? Prediction: Steelers win.

@ Browns - This could be the most interesting game left on the Steelers schedule. The Browns would love nothing more than to hurt the Steelers playoff chances, or in this case a chance at a division title, for a second year in a row. The Steelers will be looking to taking some revenge for last year though and I think they'll win in a close game. Prediction: Steelers win.

Ravens remaining games:

@ Houston - I'm banking on the extremely optimistic view that the offense will be fired up after the abysmal 2nd half against the Steelers and actually DO SOMETHING IN THE 2ND HALF OF THIS GAME. Or more likely, the Texans will find some way to blow the game near the end (I'm pretty sure that they're better at that than the Ravens, although we're getting close!). Prediction: Ravens win.

Saints - I do not feel good about this game at all. The Saints are starting to play their best football of the season and if we let up at all, which is [s]almost[/s] guaranteed, then it's gonna be a long day. The only advantage the Ravens have in this game is that it's at home. I foresee another heart-breaking loss. Prediction: Saints win.

@ Browns - They played us tough in the first game, but that was mainly because of Hillis and I don't envision a repeat performance. Our defense will find a way to shut him down and the offense will put up enough points for a win. Prediction: Ravens win.

Bengals - I don't really know what to say about this one besides: "If not now, when?" The Bengals swept us last season and then beat us earlier this season for one of their two, TWO!, wins they've had all year. They play like a winning football team against us every time and they play like the Bungles against everyone else. We got the home advantage in this game so I'll give a slight edge to the Ravens, but I don't feel good about it. Prediction: Ravens win.

Summary:

I'm predicting both teams to go 3-1 for the rest of the season which would give the Steelers the division and the Ravens a Wild Card. With the exception of the Steelers-Panthers game though, nothing is really guaranteed. Let's see what happens...

That's what I'm thinking, especially after this loss and you already see what Mason has to say about it...I say we tear up that Houston secondary like swiss cheese

I feel confident the Ravens can beat the Bengals, we are the better team. Now, the only way I see us losing to them again is if we beat ourselves...AGAIN. Joe will have a field day throwing on them and the run game should work much better this time around..

The Ravens should come out on fire next week considering the heartbreaking loss they just went thought. If Mason's passion is an indicator of the rest of the team I think we will be in good position to win.

I think Cam will feel the heat and open up the offense more, no more sitting on 4 point leads with 10 minutes to go. Houston's pass defense is worse than the Steelers, I want to see Joe torch them.

We're not winning this division. Even if we win out, and Pitts loses a game, they still have the tiebreakers.Get ready for another WC berth (which is far better than sitting at home, so dont get too pissed about it).

While IMO, we don't deserve to win the division, but it could still happen.

But I don't see it happening since we still have to the play the Saints, @ClE, and Cincy(who own us).

Only way we win the division is if the steelers lose two out of their last 4, while the ravens win out??
Yes we can still win.... and messing with the ESPN Playoff Machine the Steelers do have to drop 2 out of the last 4 while we win out for us to be the 2 Seed and AFC North Champs.

Yeah probably not, our best hope is the Jets beat them an even that may not help. Also for as odd and crazy this season has been(Rams are in first place for crying out loud) the Bengals could beat the Steelers, heck the Panthers could even beat them, that's one thing I learned this season, everything I thought I knew about the NFL is thrown out the window.

Our team and fanbase should be worried about the Ravens playing better, not what Pittsburgh is doing. If all the pieces are put together we are still the best team in the league.
