I hope a lot of people aren't underestimating this game. No matter how bad their defense is, their offense should be able to put up points depending on how we play them. Andre Johnson is the best WR in the league, injured or not, and I would rank Foster just after AP and Chris Johnson for the best RB in the NFL at the moment. He has good vision and such a great burst that our D line needs to know how to react. Not to mention it's a Monday night game, so I wouldn't really call this a simple matchup and say that we should beat up on them. We should have beaten up on the Bills, the Browns and the Bengals, and those are far less talented teams than the Texans.

21-17 Ravens, but I'm still worried. This will not be an easy game.

Bengals have more talent that the Texans do overall. But I'm not exactly breathing easy over this game.

Ravens win! I don't even care how they win anymore, just get the W these next 4 games.

We seem to have more faith in the Texans then their own fans do.I've been over there lurking on their board, and the majority are saying we're going to win.

I'm predicting a score atleast somewhere in the 30s for us,that's if Cam doesn't go to bed after the first 2 scores.

Lets put this away fast and get Ray Rice a breakout game. He needs one.
Rice broke out against the Broncos. The Ravens don't have a mauling o-line this year so the huge game from Rice may never come.

Not like we had a choice, but losing Jason Brown was the worst thing thats happened to this team since I can actually remember. You just dont find 320 pound mauling centers everyday.

You're probably right. At this point, Birk is a solid technician but doesn't seem to clear people out anymore.

True. And that was masked in '09 when we had Grubbs and Yanda next to him, our OL was still getting a strong push. Now, with Chester, we don't have that.

I'm still surprised the Ravens haven't addressed that - is no one below him better? Moll, Cousins, etc. It's probably too late in the season, though, to make a change like that. OL chemistry is almost as important, probably more-so, than overall talent.

Agreed. Birk signed a three-year deal in '09 and I'm interested to see if he's not let go in the off-season, assuming he doesn't retire. Either way, the team has to draft a center within the first four rounds of next year's draft.

After every gamr where we put up early points and then completely stomp the brakes, i hope the following game the coaches finally wake up. But each time they dont. When is enough enough? The texans are the absolute perfect team to open up on. Worst d in the league, and an offense that will put pressure on your team to score.

I think there's a little bit of a misconception around here about Cam.

Many people think that teams like the Texans play a more open Offensive style than the Ravens, but looking at the stats...

Flacco averages 33.2 pass attempts per game. So does Aaron Rodgers... and a guy named Matt Schaub.

Flacco also averages 7.5 yards/pass attempt - 9th in the NFL, and roughly the same as QBs like Drew Brees, Kyle Orton... and Matt Schaub.

Personally, I think our passing game's top concern is pass protection. We have (maybe) the best set of receivers in the NFL... but only four QBs have been sacked more than Flacco.

We win and Cincy gives us some help and........BAM!!!
Bengals are playing for pride and they absolutely despise the Steelers. I'm hoping they can put together a good game this week. Then, of course, go back to the Bungles for our game lol

Texans are beatable. They are desperate though. Since they are sitting at 5-7 we are one of those teams they need to lose to even have a shot at a WC. Defense needs to show up like they have been. Their defense is more than suspect. O line shows up this game, Cam lets the offense play, and we should outscore them easily. Cam though, is the issue here so who knows?

I have to admit, I'm a little concerned going into this game. The Ravens defense has been playing light outs the last few weeks and should continue that play Monday night. The offense worrys me, are they going to score enough points Monday? You have to figure the Texans will put up 21 points if not more. The question is can the Raven offense rebound and put up 24 pts plus against the Texans?
Thoughts?

If Cam Cameron thought the backlash from fans and players alike was bad for what happened during the Steelers game, he will be ready to leave town if our offense doesn't put up 24+ points. The Texans are clearly one of, if not, the worst defense in the league. We better show something offensively on Monday Night.

This is their SB, though.....they'll come strong. Doesn't mean they win, but who knows.

And that's the thing about teams with all that talent that just aren't "clicking", you never know when they might blowup on someone. I'll be pulling for them.

Yep, I'm hoping that some of the recent public revelations force a certain coordinator to keep his foot on the gas. They say you don't want to peak too early, so now is the perfect time lol.

Maybe it is better if we aren't nursing a small lead at half. It might actually be better for us if Houston comes out on fire and puts up a few scores on us. Than the gas peddle has to be pushed. There's no other way around it.

I use to think its best for this team to get out early. But that was back when we had a really prolific run game. Now I agree with always deferring to the second half. Let's work from behind.

Same old story, right? Defense is fine, but everyone wonders if we can score enough points.

Give it a week. The offense will score points and the defense will let up too many. Then next week everybody is talking about the defense and Mattison instead of Flacco & Cam. What's the flavor going to be?

I wouldn't be so sure about the 'give it a week approach'. 12 games in and the offense has yet to play a full 60 mins, that's where my main concern lies. Don't get me wrong, I have hope, but it is looking more and more dubious.

Remember in the beginning of the season when every pundit thought it was going to be the other way around?

"Offense will be fine, but can the defense stop anyone?"

the offense should be pissed and they will let out some steam!
They need to focus on letting out some steam on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The offense players and coaches should be working hard in practice to make sure that they execute well on gameday. We can debate all day about the play calling and game plan, but the fact of the matter is, this offense has to be smarter, work harder and execute.

I looked at some of that Pats Jets game and wondered, what's the difference between their offense and ours...........and it was execution. They didn't do anything special with play calling or game planing. They just executed really well. They blocked up the blitz and took advantage of man coverage, just like the Ravens did in week 1, Brady and their offense just didn't leave plays on the field.

This Ravens offense has no more excuses, they just have to start executing. I'm not staying they have to be top 5-10, but they must execute and make the plays that are there to be made.

The Texans defense is poor and that team overall is average at best. The biggest problem we should have is stopping their offense. Which means the Ravens offense has no reason not to put together 4 quarters of quality play and execution.

Do we need to score 40 points? I don't think so, we just need to execute and put the Texans away when we have the chance.

I am praying on the good book for this to happen. We have something to prove and it starts with the Texans. Sorry for all the Texan fans, but its gotta happen!

I wonder who's going to cover Andre Johnson? He's a very physical WR so need a tough corner on him. Of course he has to be double teamed so I hope Reed can go in the vicinity and pick off some passes. If Landry gets near him, please just wrap him up before trying anything else. Defense needs to play lights out and get to Schaub.

None of our corners are really that well suited to guard him but if I had to pick anyone it'd be Wilson. He's done a good job this year but he will need safety help from Reed for sure. Not as much worried about him as I am Arian Foster out of the backfield catching passes though

Andre johson has been confined by a lot of teams this year so i have confidencr in the ravens, especially if suggs continues to be a manbeast out their.

Their defense is.extremely weak and highly prone to mental errors. Flacco should really have is way out their, if cam lets him of course. Their only real threat will be mario williams. I see the heap having a monster game. Their corners cant cover so i expect safeties to be doing a lot of doubling on boldin and mason, freeing up heap

I really don't expect Heap to be out there, even if the hamstring allows him to go. The Ravens have to be really smart with handling Heap as this injury could carry over into the playoffs and we will definitely need a healthy Heap come playoff time.

I enjoyed watching both Dickson and Pitta play Sunday night, and was impressed in the passing area of their game. Both need work on the blocking side of things, but then again they were going against one of the best LB tandems in the NFL.
