Our fan base is quite annoying when angry. As much as you want the sky to be falling, it's not. The Texans are mediocre and have nothing to play for (they'll be "loose," so that somehow makes them better than they normally are, even though if they were in the hunt they'd be "fired up," also making them better than they normally are). Also, any problems from the previous week will always be exacerbated tenfold the next week, even though the Ravens don't have a losing streak this year.
The Texans are only mediocre because of their defense. They have one of the better offenses in the league without a doubt and even if our defense plays well, the Texans could still end up putting up enough points to win. Also, it's already been said, but they definitely have something to play for as they're still in the hunt for their division. I agree with you that the sky isn't falling and we SHOULD win this game. Will I be surprised if this ends up being another close game and/or we end up losing it? Absolutely not.

Damn those Cats!

This made me laugh uncontrollably for some reason. Like I pictured you holding a cane and pumping your fists at a bunch of cats running around, 'Damm those cats!!'

If we play like we did yesterday, we'll win.

Yes, I said win. I hate the phrase and the doom and gloom people always imply with it. We're not this garbage team all of a sudden. The Texans aren't very good.
Eh, I wouldn't chalk up the win easily but I'd say yes we have a much better chance at winning.

I guarantee Houston will be looking at the game film of ATL and TB against us? Why TB? Because when they got into their hurry up they drove right down the field against us. Houston is full of weapons, but I believe we have the personnel to shut down AJ and at least contain Foster.

If Cam calls a good game Flacco could have a field day against that defense, as could Rice

houston is brutal on pass D, I really hope Joe has a big game. I think Rice has a chance to go off to. I guarantee the Ravens will be hungry after that loss to the Squeelers.

Sure its been said, but Heap is out Monday...
I'd like to see a pass or two go Pitta's way. Not that I've lost confidence in Dickson but Pitta routinely made tough grabs at BYU.

Some stats about the Texans:

On Offense, they are 7th in rushing, 10th in passing. Schaub has similar numbers, is 9th in QB rating, is 10th in accuracy (64%), with 17 TDs and 8 interceptions.

Of course, Arians Foster leads the NFL in rushing (103 yds/game) and rush TDs (13). Andre Johnson is 3rd in receptions, with 1,018 yards.

Schaub has been sacked 26 times - only six QBs have been sacked more (Flacco 27 <_< )

On Defense, Houston is 29th in Yards Allowed, 31st in Pass D, and 27 in Points Allowed.

How about "home field advantage"? Houston is only 3-3 at home, and their two worst losses were at home, to Dallas by 14 and the Giants by 24.

However, they beat three capable teams at home - Indy (by 10), KC (by 4) and Tenn (by 20).

All this to say what we knew - Above average Offense, Sub-par Defense and Iffy at home. The Ravens are 3-3 on the road, and Joe has struggled in enemy stadiums.

So... It comes down to the usual: Execution, Turnovers and who wants it more. If the Ravens play according to their capabilities, their motivation - playoff aspiration - should carry them over Houston.

Baltimore 27
Houston 17

Quite honestly the texans defense is horrific. Especially the pass d. Flacco will shred them if cam lets him.

Im not seeing andre johson being a giant factor since hes mostly a deep route reciever, and reed will be all over him. Adrian foster is the texan to worry about. If our d plays like they did this week, then this game is already over. But, itll come down to cam being conservitive or not

If our D continues playing like they have been we'll be okay, their offense is the scariest part of the Texans. If we can limit them to 17 or less, I think we'll be okay... providing our offense can score on their mediocre defense.

I'd like to see Pitta more involved too while Heap is out.. Dickson is fine but Pitta deserves a shot, and I think on paper he has more potential.

On paper Dickson has far more potential, between the numbers is where I think Pitta has Dickson. If Pitta was playing with a guy like Rivers, Manning or Brady I think Pitta would be a top 5 TE in the league (receiving) wise for a long time in those spread style offenses. Dickson has the potential to be a better 3 down TE.

Really if we dont throw up at least 24 then Ill jump on the "Cam needs to go" train to Baltimore Tuesday morning. Theyre going to be playing these soft zones with a 4 man rush and unless our Oline shats themselves (done it before) then we should move the ball with ease. But Im sure we'll find a way to put all the stress on our defense again.

Indeed. Only one team hasn't scored at least 24 points against the Texans this season that was the Titans who trotted out Rusty Smith at QB. We'll see what the Ravens do...

I swear to baby jebus if we can't run the ball on the Texans and impose them physically we will most likely be in trouble. We need to be able to run the rock getting into this cold months.

This will probably be another stressful game. Ravens get an early lead on Texan's weak defense. Ravens sit back and play conservative in second half. Texans creep back in and suddenly we have a ball game in the fourth quarter.

If we can't move the ball consistently against this defense, its time to look forward to next year.....

the Ravens better not sleep on the Texans. i am pretty sure that they (Texans) want to make a statement themselves by beating the Ravens especially after this debacle Sunday night.

I hope a lot of people aren't underestimating this game. No matter how bad their defense is, their offense should be able to put up points depending on how we play them. Andre Johnson is the best WR in the league, injured or not, and I would rank Foster just after AP and Chris Johnson for the best RB in the NFL at the moment. He has good vision and such a great burst that our D line needs to know how to react. Not to mention it's a Monday night game, so I wouldn't really call this a simple matchup and say that we should beat up on them. We should have beaten up on the Bills, the Browns and the Bengals, and those are far less talented teams than the Texans.

21-17 Ravens, but I'm still worried. This will not be an easy game.
