Players Frustrated

Question, what do you think the Colts or Pats would do with the ball and 55 seconds left in the 1st half leading by 7?
I feel the Pats would be more willing to to take a knee than the Colts because Peyton seems to have more leeway. Still, it's easier to do that when you have a future Hall of Fame QB taking snaps.

We're not the Pats or Colts. I'm ok with not going for points in that situation. But the play calling in the second half is the thing I have problems with.

Terrell Suggs on Polamalu hit: 'Is that something new? We've just got to know our opponent better. It's like, 'Have we learned nothing?'

Was the play-calling not aggressive enough? Willis McGahee replied: 'You have to talk to the coach about that one.'

Anquan Boldin: 'Not give away the game. Plain and simple. We didn't produce as an offense at all in the second half.'

Mason was especially frustated...

This loss not only stung the fans, but it looks like the players themselves ar really frustrated with the offense.

dang -_- i think Mason may be done after this season if we dont go all the way....

To me it seems we are playing like we have something to lose rather than something to win. No killer instinct at all.

Mason is clearly saying what we all (well, except for hammer) already know ... Cam cameron needs to go.
It's as clear as day that's what they are all saying. Cam is done.

To lose a game that we clearly dominated so much of like this hurts, and Mason is 100% right about that. To say that Cam is totally responsible for the loss may be unfair, but his share would be large, considering how he tried to run out the clock with 9 minutes left and a 4 point lead. Against the Steelers, that's the time when you go for the throat, not where you curl up and hope it ends soon.
Amen brother, Amen.

It was like a bad flash back. Watching us do consecutive 1 yard runs, drive after drive. With a 4 point lead. A touchdown would have buried them, a field go would have went a long way. But instead we let drives stall out twice in a row when we were moving the ball well. I mean christ look at how Flacco was hooking up with Boldin in the end of the game, where was that at all day?

Can you imagine, what our team would be like if we didn't have defense to back up our offense pathetic gameplay day in and day out? 20 points and under for 4 straight games, averaging 23 pts the whole season. We'd be made fun of 2-10 bengals for being in par with them having 2-10 this season w/o our defense. Again, we need to put some freaking points after 2nd half, and cam Cameron and his play calling is horrendous. Guy had his lame duck joy ride, he needs go get out of Baltimore NOW

wow, I would say I have more respect for Derrick Mason, but it's really not hat possible at this point. He has proven day in and day out on Sundays that he will give it 110%. I agree with him. and if he gets fined I ll throw a couple bucks his way to help him out. He called a spade a spade. He spoke out withe emotion. I was at the game thinking, "wow, we got this game if we keep being aggressive", and we didnt. We ran the ball on an excellent run defense to try and eat up the clock. what the heck were we thinking.

The offense failed spectacularly tonight but let's not pretend the D has been lights out all year.

Honestly, for how angry I am, this was a great game. We would have won if it wasnt for the flying squirl, aka polamau (spelling?). We DOMINATAED 3 1/2 quarters of the game, against a great defense. Its dissapointing, realllyyy is. But maybe all this is just prepping up for the time to STEP UP IN THE POST SEASON. Flacco is doing ok but for whatever reason, OC or Flacco, he isnt seeing defensive schemes for what they are.

The real reason we fail on the fundementals every game? We dont make 2nd half adjustments.

Football is a game of adjustments. You get beat one way, you adjust. Over and over, thats football. We need to adjust, players, coaches, and everyone involved. and If one person, cam, or flacco, or anyone cant adjust, maybe its time to motivate them Harbs. I love harbs, and i think he's fustrated too. Dont think Oher, and others who make costly mistakes wont get an ear-full this week.

We better be ready to put a 40-burger up for the next 2 weeks... texans and saints. they score points.

The worst of what Mason had to say (for me) was when he questioned why he bothered coming back this season. I understand it was mostly just him speaking out of frustration, but damn. Sucks to hear such a dynamic, big part of our offense say that.
Players are privately seriously disenchanted with offensive coordinator Cam Cameron's play-calling. Questioning direction of offense.
- Aaron Wilson

Hopefully this turns around the team instead of causing a split in the locker room.

This is great news. Really. The fans and writers have questioned Cam for almost all season now and finally, the players(even some on defense have) had enough.

I was just about to post that AW tweet heh. I think its great news as well. Maybe Cam hearing his own team is annoyed by his tendencies, it'll be a step towards change...

This end of this game gave me flashbacks to the Pats game where we played so conservatively on offense when it mattered the most... I agree that potentially this can be a catalyst for change, because our offense crumbles against the better teams. And we play a few good teams in the next two weeks.

It's a lose/lose situation. If things dont change, we already know what that will amount to.

And change scares me, because it may get even worse. Why? Because I think that Cameron doesn't seem to fully understand how to utilize this offense's strengths.

meh, nevermind .... I'm so tired of talking about him that I cant even finish this post...

Bottom line; the offense is not centered around what Flacco is most comfortable with. Cam's personality overshadows everything else. He takes a long time to get play calls in, and he does stupid things like throw back to back fades inside the 5. Flacco hasn't grown in certain areas because Cam doesn't let him try/learn. Cam wants to be in control.

I know the play calling was crappy the whole night (WR Sub Package with Housh and Stallworth only leading by 4 still pisses me off) But that was a throw Joe could have made and it doesn't change that. It really sucks that the best receiving core in the NFL will never live up to expectations with Cam here.

Can't Harbs just fire him and dub himself as OC?

I'm as angry as the players themselves. I stayed up late and sacrificed sleep to see offensive playmakers make no plays the second half. What is up with that?

The Ravens get beat by every good/decent team. IF we get lucky and get to the playoffs, we will get embarassed. We are very poorly coached. Harbaugh is intimidated by his older than him coaches, so nothing will change."WASTED TALENT". AGAIN.

Oh and by the way it doesn't help that harbs can't take over any of the play calling.
How can he? He was a special teams coach not an O coordinator. That's is why we all get upset with Cam, I don't think the head coach has the confidence to call plays himself but I could be wrong. That is not his strength or background and I wonder how often he questions Cam's calls or has the knowledge to question his calls?

Maybe it's time for Al Saunders to step in? We can't get much worse... Cameron stinks, and his departure is loooooooooooooooong overdue.

Like I said in another thread, I truly failed to see the overall domination by the Ravens yesterday. Both teams defenses dominated the opposing teams offenses.

Take away the 61 & 67 yard passes by Flacco and he had a horrid night to go along with a poor completion percentage. (Im not discounting the importance of the long ball and those plays, im just saying that it doesn't make for a consistent offense when relying on those kinda plays)

They should be frustrated. If we can't beat the Steelers when...

1) We're at home
2) Big Ben has a bad foot limiting his mobility
3) The Steelers o-line is decimated allowing us to generate some of the best pass rush we've seen in a long time.
4) Plus the Steelers lose Heath Miller and is down to their 3rd string TE further limiting their pass protection and offensive playmakers.
5) We get not 1 but 2 pass plays over 60 yards.
6) We win the turnover battle 2-1
7) We have a TD lead heading into the 4th quarter
8) Our secondary plays a really good game.
