Yes, he is. flacco is just not. Good qb thought. Just not the talent yet.
He didn't look elite today.....threw a bout 10 balls into triple coverage

Oh, and if I hear the "I WANT TROY SMITH BACK" one more time from anybody. I am going to go on a rampage. The dude sucks. He is sucking with the 49ers, and they have a pretty good supporting cast

its not flaccos fault Troy is great.

I didn't know three or four good games in an entire career made a "great" QB?

This loss isn't on flacco, its the playcalling see cam. I don't know why the organization would spend money for "weapons", when your o-cord is not using them inconsistently and unwisely.

how great do you have to be when you aren't even blocked, i'm in a wheelchair and i could have forced that fumble from flacco UNTOUCHED!!!

Flacco has outplayed Manning this year, including today. Since we're going to throw Flacco under the bus for not winning, let's be fair and do it to everyone else.

BTW, are you on crack?? Cam's playcalling kept us in the game???

yea you're right, but not on game ending play like that, this was a perfect chance for flacco to step up to the next level, he failed big time!!!
I've seen QBs not make a play in that situation before. Regardless, the team wouldn't have even been in that position had Joe not made several big throws on the drive. They may not have even had to attempt a game-winning drive had Cam allowed Joe to go down-field instead of trying to sit on a 4-point lead.

some people are blind. Cams calling was once again conservative. I told you he would take a nap again after a TD lead. open your eyes, be realistic here.

Er....you do realize we were playing the Steelers right? A Troy Polamalu and Dick Lebeau led defense?
While i see and agree with what you are saying to a point, don't panic, and keep things in perspective.
I am keeping things in perspective. Our offense should be able to score more than 10 points against a good defense. We played exactly the way that some fans feared we would.

Joe played absolutely perfect in the first half, when Cam let Joe play. Once into the second half, Cam decided slow and steady wins the race. Once again, he proved himself wrong. To pin the lose on Joe is absolutely ridiculous. Did Joe miss all those tackles on Redman's touchdown catch? I don't think so.

I think he/she is referring to Troy Polamalu.

This game was not only lost by Joe (he's bin around long enough to know whats going on around him) Cam who is scared to push the rod and Mattsen who calles a blits on pit so close to the endzone (they were counting on mattsen to call a blits

Ben was under and over throwing during the game (Hines Ward and Mike Wallace, both were in the endzone). Josh Freeman was under and over throwing all during last week's game. It happens to every single quarterback.

Anyways, this thread is beyond ridiculous. Cam kept the Ravens in the game? Are you serious? We're unable to run the ball, so we decide to attempt a reverse when trying to hold the lead. That couldn't possibly go wrong, could it? Or let's run on first down and go no where, and make it harder and harder for the offense to convert. Joe played a great game, aside from a few mistakes, but that's not enough to damn him as you are attempting to do.

I've supported him all season, but he had a chance to step up tonight and he failed big time

and I was talking so much trash to my friends that are steelers fans, we dominated every aspect of the game, except for that palamalu play. HOW DO YOU LET THE 2ND BEST SAFETY IN THE LEAGUE GO UNTOUCHED WHEN HE TELEGRAPHED THE BLITZ!!!! HOWWWWW!!!!

This was a game for Joe to win. Only Cams Play calling kept the Ravens in the game. Joe is a great guy, but it is clear he is not an elite QB.
Cam's playcalling kept us the game? You mean the strategy that when something works, abandon it in favor of something else? Joe did what we needed him to do, gave us the lead, just like in New England and Atlanta. At some point, we have to expect the defense (where 3 of our second round draft picks went in the past two years) to step up and get a stop when it matters the most.

To the people saying Cam blew the game, ok that is a valid point. Why are we throwing the ball on the Polamalu sack?

To that point Flacco was terrible, barely 50% completion and that miserable excuse for a throw at the end. Housh bailed him out on that deep ball late, should have been a pick.

Also took a few bad sacks, did the Oline break down, yes but gotta know where the blitz is coming from pre-snap.

I hope he is talking about the safety and no the QB.

He DID step up, the loss is not his fault. He wasn't missing tackles, he wasn't dropping passes, he wasn't calling reverses, he wasn't allowing blitzes to get through the offensive line. It's downright stupid to blame this loss on Joe.

i agree with you but i still believe flacco needs to make that throw when it counts,

It's just a shame seeing our offense fail magnificently for the majority of the second half. Cam's conservative run calls when we were up by just by one score simply baffles me.

I think it's well known that the way to beat the Steelers defense is through the air. That's how we were doing it all the first half (throwing it at McFaddden) and it was working well! Even if running the ball does drain the clock, I feel it would have been more successful to sustain our drives by continuing to pass.

Unfortunately, this has been a recurring theme the entire season, and tonight's outcome has stung the most.

Dickson should be able to catch a ball thrown perfectly to him in stride, Cam shouIld relaize using rookie TE to block Harrison is dumb, and....list goes on and on. Like I said, I agree with you to a point. But injuries, and the fact that we played a great defense, also contribute to only scoring 10 points. Blocking was most crucial area of hurt imo.

thank you, everyone defends flacco so rigorously, he isn't bad but he still makes a lot of mistakes that are just so frustrating. great example is not audibling the play when palamalu lines up on the LOS. COME ON MAN!

Part of that "terrible" game was the play calling and lack of a running game.
