So has anyone here actually advanced in the game's storyline? I'm still in the honeymoon phase, where I do about one mission and then drive around running over random people with a slightly strange smile on my face.

Can't play more than 1-2 hours at a time or I'll end up spending the whole day on it, which is bad because this is a busy weekend for me.

I do about one mission as well before messing around for an hour. Then I do another mission and the cycle repeats itself for 4-6 hours. I got to the second island.

I've gotten to Algonquin (Manhattan) already, and I'm currently doing missions for Elizabeta Torres and Playboy X at the same time. I'm not really looking forward to doing missions for Brucie (Roman's steroid-pumped bald friend) 'cause he showed up at the worst possible time, when I don't really feel like having to drive back and forth across the bridge to Bohan and Broker/Dukes and then still be available to skip over to Algonquin to see Playboy X.

The commute kills me every time, so I've gotten around to making use of the cabs and skipping to each destination. Costs me roughly $30-$50 each ride, but at least it gets me places faster.

I'm really trying to do lots of things at once 'cause I'm wrapped up in the story now and the dialogue is GREAT. I'm really getting into the little conversations that Niko has with each character whenever you decide to hang out with one of them randomly.

I'm still wondering why Michelle is still around...she's kinda boring, even though I'm interested to see if continuing to spend time with her will open up more of Niko's emotional side.

xbox 360 is WAY better trust me......you just have to get the right system and you wont have any troubles with it....not to mention the xbox live is AWSOME!!!!

Well, some 360 owners I talked to have complained about some issues with the graphics during hectic situations in the game (pop-up issues, getting stuck in the occasional wall when taking cover, etc.).

Personally, I prefer the PlayStation Network to XBOX Live, mainly 'cause PSN is FREE for EVERY game.

And I like the wireless internet capability of the PS3. Plus, I think Blu-Ray movies have much better picture quality than HD-DVD, even on a standard-definition TV. But that's me.

Also, I've gotten much better battery life out of the wireless PS3 controllers than the 360 controllers. Even though the PS3 USB cable is short as heck (making it a pain to play and charge the controller at the same time), that can be solved with a longer cord.

Regardless, I fully-charged my PS3 controller the night before GTA came out, and I played it 10 hours straight the first day, and played for roughly three or four hours the past two nights, and I've only just now drained half the battery and probably won't have to charge it until tomorrow or Sunday.

So generally, I view the PS3 as the better investment, especially considering the wide variety of downloadable content from the PlayStation Store, the PS1 backwards compatability (PS2 compatability also available on the 80GB version), and the comfortable size of the HDD (40GB is the main unit right now, but a new 80GB bundle with Metal Gear Solid 4 is rumored to come out, but the HDD can always be manually-upgraded).

My guess is she's either an exotic dancer or a adult film actress.

i was talking to one of the people who worked overnight at my work that bought it and he said that its by far, the best GTA they've ever done (in a matter of speaking), plus he said that there's so much more you can do and the story line is great.......so i think i will have to go and buy it and see for myself.

i just bought it the other day, at first i thought it was a little on the boring side of things because all you do for the first few missions, is tote the cousin around and such, then it really gets into it and gets into the GTA roots.....a A plus by all means.

Am I the only person who is absolutely terrible at controlling the motorcycles in this game?

rest assured, you are not. I went round my friend's to play it, and I could barely make a gentle turn without falling off. That was probably because the gentle turn was usually accompanied by hitting a lamp post.

i don't ride the motorcycles at all, never tried them, i just go for the cars/trucks instead and just use the hand brake for drifting around turns

I agree with him. Just finished the game, it was the best storyline and main character they've done so far in my opinion.

My only problem with the game was that the friends began to get annoying, but that's a small complaint since you can ignore them and only lose fluff stuff.

yea i see your point, i think they wanted the player/gamer to experience more than the previous GTA games, the FULL experience and really "Live it".

I'm pretty horrendous at driving in general. The first time I went drinking with Roman, right after I started the car, I drove directly into a cop car. Later, on a date with Michelle while driving a motorcycle, I rear ended a car and she flew off the bike and then walked her butt home.

I took Michelle drinking once, then decided to be a man and drive her home. Didn't notice how much damage the car was taking because the screen was so blurry. It eventually exploded with us in it.

I didn't get laid after that one.

That's how all of my dates end too. Although the game leaves out the whole crying myself to sleep part.

I drive a car until the flames shoot out of it. Then I try to quickly get it to a highly populated area before diving out. I also like going through the windshield, especially from a high fall. You fall out of the car and the car keeps rolling.

You'll never touch Raven07's dominance of the General Discussion forum. He's untouchable when he's on his game.
