Merged: Cam Complaint Threads - Week 13

82 posts in this topic

No excuses Cam! .......4 top quality receivers (Mason, TJ, Anquan, Donte) + Heap + a great backfield (Rice, McGahee, McClain) + a QB with a great arm and he is not stupid......WHERE ARE THE POINTS? Spread the field and show the real threat we have on a regular basis. Plus, you should be able to anticipate a blitz (90% of the fans can) and plan a quick action play. Very, very disappointing offensive production with the caliber of players we have. It's not the players that are the problem.

I'm just here to vent on the playcalling that was done for the second half. We have too much talent for us to be stalling on drives and 3 and outing. Consistently.

Sounds like Mason's about had it with the way the offense works

GIVE JIM ZORN A SHOT - It didn't hurt in Dallas changing up, can't be much worse!
Ugh. I wouldn't trust that guy with an offensive game plan. Backed up by a head coach that isn't an offensive gameplanner.

he's probably the worst coordinator in football. he's actually made our offense worse with the addition of Bolden, Stallworth and Houshamazilly.

we have absolutely zero chance in the playoffs with him in charge of plays.

Want to trade OC's? Everyone in Pittsburgh HATES Bruce Arians. How about Bruce for Cam straight up? LOL.

Good job Cam

"You wonder why you come back and play after stuff like this," Mason said."Pittsburgh is a good team, but there is honestly no way we should have lost this game. This makes me wonder personally why I even came back. It hurts worse than any other game."

Make our players start questioning why they are even here. Obviously on your way out.

I think it's interesting that a lot of blame is going towards Cam (which it should, the offensive line (played like doo doo, but it is the Steelers) and Flacco (sorry man you arent a rookie anymore, you deserve heat.). But no one is really commenting on the fact that we lost Todd Heap real early in the game. That changed everything!

The ppoint here is it ain't working - nobody likes seeing Pro bowl playmakers on the bench not getting schemed into an opportunity to make a play down the stretch. Is it me, or was our rookie TE the best option in several situations?

At the time of the fumble, I told a co-worker that it was not Flacco's fault that no one blocked Polamalu. But after the post game comment by Flacco that he knew that TP was going to blitz untouched and had his back to him, I put more blame on JF. I am really tired of hearing that the only one who knows how football is played at the NFL is Harbaugh. I only played semi-pro but I do know the difference between losing or winning. I am always pointing out bad plays and calls etc. to my wife and usually the ex-players and or coaches more often then not validate what I pointed out. Then that means the the ex-pros don't know what they are talking about either.

Perhaps Cam reads these boards and will change his ways, if not, he is done for.

Cam isn't and shouldn't be reading forums.

He shouldn't, but he evidently has a lot of spare time on his hands since it's pretty obvious he has 2 generic game-plans - 1, Get lead. 2, Stop playing.

Cam didn't fumble the damn ball when leading. Cam isn't the one who couldn't complete a 2 yard pass on 4th down. I am so pissed off at Flacco right now.
Yes, but Cam however did call the play that made that fumble possible. He had absolutely NO BUSINESS calling a pass play in that situation. Inexcusable.

I completely disagree. Yes, the previous play had been a five-yard run but the team had got a lead passing the game and was right to continue doing it. Michael Oher was the one who didn't pick up Polamalu.

Obviously, I think he already has a feeling that the fans/players are unhappy with him and that his job is not secure.

It severely pains me to sit there and watch the most beautiful thing in the world for Brady to come out and completely obliterate the Steelers and Benjarvus to run all over them and think, we have way better personnel than NE, we will kill them in the home game, then to see us stink it up like that. Its Cameron, he is holding back this team we have. We should be putting 30pts up with 3 legitimate #1 receivers and 2 legitimate starting Running backs. Where the hell is the attack at? Sometimes I think Cam wastes downs trying things to see if they will work. Ridiculous. I thought when he first came here we would dominate in a few years, We are actually taking steps backwards now

Obviously, its easy for me to sit here and criticize the pass call after the fact, but we 100% needed to run there. 2nd and 5 with 3:XX left in the game and their offense is doing nothing against us. I don't like the call one bit.....

Fair enough. Either way, player execution was the chief problem on that play.

I think the team's three plays in the red-zone on their final possession in the third quarter alone are proof Cam doesn't know what he's doing.

I think that three play stretch kind of summarised him as a coordinator.

Agreed. I'm really series. For those who want to know what the plays were here's a breakdown.

From the the Pittsbugh 6-yard line:

First down - Cam calls a fade to Boldin. Polamalu came off the edge and got in Joe's affecting the throw.

Second down - This time, Cam calls fade to Dickson. Not only was it a poor throw by Joe, Dickson's footwork wasn't good either.

Third down - Cam has Joe roll to his left, even though he's a right-handed QB, the rush gets to Joe and he does well to avoud getting sacked and throw a dump-off to Rice but it falls short.

Now, Cam could have called any number of plays after the first fade failed. Personally, I have zero idea why Cam continues to call fades when Joe hasn't proven himself to be good at delivering jump-balls.

I've said this before but how he doesn't call a dive, draw, slant, rub or screen there is just beyond me.

I don't think that was a fade. Based on the throw by Flacco, I'd say it was a short hook route. Flacco could've just throw a terrible ball, though, lol. I agree with you, though. Hate those passes on the goal-line, even though our OL is terrible in short yardage.

What would you say the odds of us throwing a fade inside the 10 are? Probably at least 50% - Why not spread them 4 wide, 2 on each side and find something across the middle - I CAN'T STAND THE PREDICTABLE FADE

I just want to see more slants. It seems like we are always sending Boldin, Housh and Mason on sideline fly routes. Why can't we at least try to utilize the strength of our team.
