We Don't Have A Fullback For The Game?!?!?!

9 posts in this topic

The team can still run without a fullback. As stated earlier, there'll most likely be the use of an H-back in some formations, and Dennis Pitta had been practicing as an H-back lately. Furthermore, Willis McGahee went to the Pro Bowl in Buffalo as a runner operating primarily out of the singleback formation.

We have both McClain and McKie deactivated. WHAT?! I guess we're not planning to run much...

We were discussing this in the gamethread and the conclusion is that he's either not in game shape or he hasn't grasp the offensive playbook and terminology yet.

But yea a big loss. We probably weren't going to have much of a ground game anyways. I worry more about pass protection.

This worried me a bit, but Heap or another TE that knows the playbook can step in at Hback. This could leave another TE open that they have to account for. That and they could prolly use the Jumbo package lol.

Keep in mind, the Steelers have the top-ranked run defense right now, so the gameplan was probably to spread it out anyway, especially since each of the Steelers' losses have been to teams that spread out their offense.
