Like the Vikings :)

Sike I think it would be cool. But put like a black stripe on the side like the broncos stripe. Then it would be sick.

I think they're going all purple to highlight OUR teams colors. If we tried to do a blackout in the stands it'd look like a steelers home game with all the black against the inevitable terrible towels.

For future reference, for those that think it's some sort of inside info (jersey color) you can see what color we're wearing for the upcoming game, on this site, by going to the GAMEDAY tab, and clicking on the next GAMEDAY tab. You'll get something like this:

Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) vs. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)presented by Verizon, Official Wireless Service Provider of the Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, 12/5/10, 8:20 PM M&T Bank Stadium (71,008)
TV: NBC/WBAL (Ch. 11) | Radio: WBAL (1090 AM), 98 Rock (97.9 FM), Westwood One, Sirius (127), XM (103, 104)
TV Crew: Al Michaels (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst), Andrea Kremer (sideline)
Local Radio Crew: Gerry Sandusky (play-by-play), Stan White (analyst), Qadry Ismail (analyst)
National Radio Crew: Dave Sims (play-by-play), James Lofton (analyst), Sean Landeta (sideline)
Ravens Jersey Color: Purple
Referee Crew: Terry McAulay...

i knew it'd be purple jerseys. They want our COLOR on national TV, not black which is more of a primary steelers color(black/yellow) than the ravens.

as an aside, I was hoping we'd get Mike Carey or John Parry. But Im thanking ou lucky stars we didnt get Walt Anderson or Ron Winter...they are the WORST.

I will be wearing my medium heavy RAVENS jacket with several layers underneath and my purple RAVENS/98Rock Santa hat and my purple camo pants and purple RAVENS gloves and about 30 strings of purple beads. My Jacket is primarily black, but has about 20% purple and the RAVENS logo on both front and back.

Y'all do know that the wind chill is supposed to be in the low 20's at game time, right? Not exactly jersey only weather for non athletic participants. I suggest layers upon layers underneath for those who plan on wearing their jerseys.

I went to the AFC Championship Game in Pgh wearing a big puffy all purple coat, purple camo pants, and my purple Santa hat. I was a big fat target for abuse...
...and I'd do it again, in a heartbeat!

Below is a pic of me "pointing" at downtown Pgh on the boat ride over to that big yellow urinal of a stadium.

My black Derrick Mason! D-mas has been on a roll since the rest of the league has discovered Anquan. If things start to go wrong, I'll throw on my white Todd Heap! If that don't work, it's body paint time!!!! LOL!

Yeah agreed. I have an alternative color Ngata jersey that I only wear during black out games. I also have a white Reed I wear when we are away.
However, Baltimore is purple, not black. Why someone would buy a black jersey as their only jersey for Baltimore still confuses me.
So on Purple Fridays I guess that person then wears their black jersey. :th_sneak-1:
Why should it matter what color they are? Baltimore has black jeresys, they also have purple. Either way your supporting the team no matter what color they are. I personally like the Black jerseys over the Purple, it looks more intimidating and robust to me.

I'm rockin the all-black Flacco jersey and my girlfriend will be rockin the all-black Ray Lewis, representing the Ravens all the way here in LA!
I like the all blacks, but I think I'm going to be wearing black jeans. I don't want to look in all black so either I wear the white jersey or the purple. I think the white one is the one I'm leaning towards..

It matters at the stadium for the psychological effect as well as how it'll look on national television; the Steelers' primary color is black, so if Ravens fans are wearing black jerseys, it might look as if they're supporting the Steelers from afar, even if they have other purple items on. Furthermore, wearing purple at the stadium for this game is making a statement to Steelers fans that they're not welcome in our house.

A lot of people say it doesn't matter, and to an extent, they're right; it is, after all, just an article of clothing at the end of the day. But given the significance of this game and the attention that the city will be getting, wearing purple at the stadium could go a long way in reminding the rest of the nation (and the viewing audience around the world) that Baltimore is a football town. Sure, you can support your team in ways other than wearing a jersey of a designated color, but first impressions have a greater impact than any subtle implications ever could. This is not about fashion, this is about having pride in our team and our team colors.

I could not agree with you more but since this is a night game in December you might not see my purple jersey under the many layers of clothes and black winter jacket I will be wearing to the game.
Go Ravens

i am wearing my purple Ray Lewis jersey and my wife is wearing her black one.

with the windchill being set at 30 degrees i highly doubt that either one of us would be showing them off due to the fact that we will be wearing overcoats and covering up with our Ravens blankets as well. lol!

Oh I wasnt arguing about tonights game, I think they should wear purple. I was responding to how he wrote, "why would anyones first jersey color be black?" In general I dont see how it matters if the team IS Purple and Black. Some people just like the black jerseys better, but in the end either color you get will be supporting the team.
