Who uses one?

I totally forgot that I am going to the Philippines from Dec 21 to Jan 4th. Which means that I will miss the Browns and Bengals game, aaahhhhh!!!!!

I was going to buy a Sling Box and watch from my laptop....thoughts/suggestions?

I don't but I know Franchise uses one. I'm sure he'll be by soon enough. I've always wondered if it is a useful investment. But for right now I'm sticking to the Directv on the go package.

Or better yet, does someone want to allow me to log into their SlingBox acocunt somehow and let me watch the two games I'll be missing? ;)

I would let you use my log-in, but I don't believe either game will be broadcast on my cable provider, so you wouldn't be able to watch it that way. I also don't have the wi-fi attachment needed to install it in my bedroom away from my router (my antenna that I use to watch games is in my bedroom), so I wouldn't be able to hook it up either way.

The SlingBox is amazing. It has multiple purposes. For one, if you're super-paranoid and have a security camera, you can use it to monitor your house away from home. Also, the new SlingPlayer software has DVR-like features (minus recording) that let you pause, fast-forward, and rewind live TV up to an hour back. There's also free 3rd-party software that lets you record the stream from your SlingBox, but that's a different discussion for a different place...

It's a great investment. I watch TV at work all the time (and sometimes in class...), and you can watch from any web browser on a computer that allows Flash Player, meaning you don't need to use the SlingPlayer software. However, I carry the old lightweight SlingPlayer on my flash drive and watch it on any computer. The delay isn't so bad, either; usually about a 7-second delay, on average. And picture quality is excellent on most connections and pretty decent on weak connections.

Yes, it works with a smartphone, but you'll need to pay a one-time $29.99 fee to use it. Otherwise, if you watch from a laptop or computer, it's free (minus the cost of the box, cost of your cable bill, etc.)
