Good to hear. I'm going to wait until he fully starts his career before I am too concerned with where he wants to end it though. ;)

That's what they all say.

On Second thought? Is this hinting towards an early retirement i.e. this year?

I think his career in Baltimore already ended.

In fact, I already forgot about him and hope it stays that way.

Whether you like the guy or not, you can't help but notice that our O-line has struggled without him. As long as he can prove that he's healthy and we can re-sign him for the right price then I would welcome him back with open arms.

Our O line has suffered slightly, but it's not a glaring problem, and anyone that thinks so is being a bit too passionate about it.

If we take Gaither back, we are risking the same problem happening again with him, and that is not something we should ever have to deal with again.

maybe I'm a bit too passionate about this Gaither issue...

His diagnosis is still unknown and we have no clue that his back spasm or whatever is ever going to be fixed. It sounds like he wants to stay in Baltimore, the great nation ^^.

All I want to say is that can he start this Sunday? lol

I'd the say the team's inability to run around the right side of the line is pretty glaring.

The Bills weren't going to make that deal.

Honestly, I think Gaither has realized how much he screwed up and what he had with the Ravens. That... and he's probably not going to get the mega contract he expected. I imagine the Ravens will re-sign him to a vet minimum and see how he does in 2011.

Is he available for the vet. Minimum yet?

i'll take gaither back at RT if hes willing to make RT money...
Yeah who knows maybe his lack of seeing the field is a blessing in disguise for the team. Maybe we will be able to get him back at a much better discounted rate than what we thought one year ago.

I think getting Gaither back would be a massive boost for our OL. We won't need to draft a tackle this year (maybe a center in the long term to replace Birk) and we can push Yanda back inside where he mauls like the best of them. Our line is SO much better without him.

However, unless he is willing to accept a lower price to stay with a team he professes to want to end his career with, I don't realistically see it happening as the Bills (for example) would probably make a big $ offer to him.

I'll take Gaither back at RT or LT. I still think they moved Oher to LT too soon. I think if Gaither comes back next year, put Gaither back at LT and move Oher back to RT, and if the Ravens want to keep him if he performs well at LT they will sign him, also if he does well, you also raise his trade value. So just bring him back next year and next off-season figure out what to do.

Right player, right price...we'll see what other teams offer Gaither. I wouldn't overpay that's for sure. And if we don't re-sign Gaither, then we need to draft o-line depth. I'm more concerned about re-signing Josh Wilson and of course Ngata.

Maybe Gaither is realizing that no one is going to pay him LT money next season, no matter what his snake agent is telling him. If he can get healthy and agrees to a reasonable contract, I'd still want him. He does have a lot of injury issues though.

Or our failure to get a push anywhere on 3rd and 1, Gaither wont be back next year, Harbaugh pretty much despises him for what he did all off season one would assume, but Gaither was a legit LT for 2 years under Harbaugh and was a monster in run blocking.

I think this offensive tackle needs to get on the field and start blocking!!!!
Pretty tough to "get on the field and start blocking" when he's hurt.

Hey, at least he (slightly) improved his signature. Can't ask for too much.

I'm hoping that, as long as his health and is attitude are good, that he'll be back with us. Unlikely, as Harbaugh dislikes him, but I'm hoping. If this quote is any indication, his attitude is in the right place.

I'll second that!
Get somebody for him who is actually a football player.

True XD

I hope he's re-signed too but we'll see.
