Mono Lake

So there is always this debate of if there is life on other planets. Maybe we should search for the different forms of life here on our own planet. They arent extraterrestrial but they are alien to any other way life has come to be on this planet. Have a look. Might blow your mind. There are actually certain life forms in this lake that are located nowhere else on the planet!

Seriously guys if you ever get a chance to go out to Yosemite and Mono Lake, do so. You won't regret it. Mono Lake is an experience unto itself.

Yup, already updated on the link.

On December 2, 2010 NASA announced the discovery of an organism that utilizes arsenic in its "cellular" structure.[17] This would constitute the first discovery of a life form capable of replacing one of the "big six" (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and phosphorus) elements in its genetic makeup.[

I recall reading some stuff about this lake back in the early eighties, and there were some disputes over the City of Los Angeles diverting the water from the lake to fulfill their needs.

I think this is good - to see that the lake has recovered, and that such life forms found there have truly proliferated.
