Props to Suggs, I dogged him out pretty bad in the thread "T-sizzle, me thinks not", I'm glad to see him putting in work!

I'm glad he's playing at such a high level. I always defended him against the haters, especially in his tough year, now he is doing it through his performance :)

Nice, Sizzle!

You could see a huge difference even back in offseason workouts when Sizzle came in over 20 pounds lighter. I am glad he rededicated himself to the game and when he is on he is almost unstoppable. I hope he is fired up again Sunday night.

To me, his impact, especially the past few weeks, can't even be measured in common stats. I can't remember the amount of hurries he got and times he's picked up a player in the flats.

It really says a lot. I know a lot of us were beating him up for not putting up the numbers. Lately he has been shutting down the run and putting up DL numbers. Well deserve and I'm really glad to see him get this going into the heated stretch.

Good to see him get rewarded for his hard work. Congrats T-Sizzle. Keep it up and do some work against the Steelers.

I'll say it again, he's play ed even better than Ngata this season (which is saying a lot)
[/quote]

I'd have to disagree Suggs surely has had a better month then Ngata but for the year, Ngata a run stuffing 3-4 Lineman has 5 sacks 2/3 through the year...and eats up 2 blockers on many plays.

While Suggs does get good pressure, he often overshoots the quarterback.

i just watched T-Sizzle's interview about the Ravens vs Steeler matchup and i must say....i absolutly love his swagger! he has definately changed his mindset from just being considered as a "pass-rusher" to being an all-around dominating defensive player in general! i can see his intensity and passion for the game turning up a couple of notches. kinda like that Ray Lewis cat! lol!

If an interior d-line, like Ngata, would generate a more consistent push up the middle, QBs wouldn't be able to step up and cause Suggs to miss them.

True, but was really annoys me is when both OLB's go all out for the speed rush around the tackle. Instead I would like to see one of them fake the speed rush and cut inside. That way whether the QB steps up or not he's in trouble.

Agreed. Still, it's tough to expect the scenario you brought up to happen often because offensive tackles rarely give pass rushers the inside(shorter) angle.

I've seen Suggs generate pressure and even get a sack on an inside move a number of times this season but more often than not, no pressure was being brought from the other side and the QB had all day.

You're right. I know of at least one sack Suggs got by cutting inside. Still, our OLB's aren't really built for speed rushing, yet they seem to try it too often. Both our guys are more build for bull rushing and swim moves.

Yeah, it was against the Pats. I disagree that Suggs isn't built for speed rushing but a better swim move would really help him.

Suggs isn't very fast. If you remember back to the draft, he fell because he was considered very slow. Suggs can still win those battles from time to time (he beat Matt Light twice for big sack/ff against the Pats last year)but I don't think anyone would confuse him with James Harrison or Elvis Dumerville.

Same thing with Johnson. He can on occation win with speed but c'mon, he's a converted DT. I love the guy but speed and quickness aren't his best attributes.

Yeah, Ngata's seemingly "disappeared" if that's possible (due to constant double-teaming) which has opened up Sizzle to bring pressure from the outside. Ngata and Suggs are going to wreak havoc come Sunday night. Guaranteed.

He ran a slow 40 but his first step is still incredibly quick. Just look at how he was flying off the line snap after snap against the Falcons. Suggs is bigger than both Harrison and Dumveril but I don't think his first step is much slower than their's.

I agree about J.J. Even still, he's stood out rushing the QB the past two weeks.

Honestly when you watch us rush the passer 3 out of every 4 times Suggs is the first one to put pressure on when he's blitzing, the man is a straight up beast. Not only has he been making plays in the backfield but sometimes on the opposite side of the field, he is showing tremendous hustle to the ball (he's flying to the ball faster than any of our LB's) One thing I do think he could sure up on is his tackling a little bit, now I'm not saying he's a bad tackler cause he's not, but he does miss an occasional tackle that he should make.

Near the start of the year he pulled an absolute sick swim move on the right tackle to get a sack. Can't exactly recall which game it was but it was beautiful. I'd love to see him use his arms more for the swim moves. There was also a play against Atlanta where he almost got a 3rd sack, he literally kept pushing the LT back by just keep swapping his hands under the tackles wrists, it was something to see.
