Who Had The Best Day One?

11 posts in this topic

I'm gonna say the Cards. The Dolphins had a great first 2 rounds also, but their first pick wasn't on day one. it was on day -2. (jake long OT, first round ; Philip Merling DE and Chad Henne QB, second round)

The Cards got DRC, a guy who I would have love to have picked up, and Calais Campbell, a huge defensive end from the U.

with those two guys, they could have a very dynamic defense those year.

KC had a good draft so far also. They really picked up some good quality players.

purely on players taken, they'd have to be up there with the best so far, but you have to factor in that the lost Jared Allen for a few of those picks.

I would go with Miami . I am a big lover of Parcells and his history. The guys he picked will be stars not just starters almost certainly . I was hoping there was some way he may of found his way to Baltimore in the offseason before Miami gobbled him up.No disrespect for Ozzie I wanted him to coach us.

Washington got some good position players on offense. Devin Thomas, Fred Davis, Malcolm Kelly all first round talent taken in the second round. They took Colt Brennan in the sixth, has potential that needs years to develop just like most QB's but he can be scary good if he puts he stays focused.

Giants picked up some nice players too. Kenny Phillips will probably start immediately and Terrell Thomas has the tools of a great corner and could be the teams best corner once Madison is gone. combine that with their ridiculously out of this world pass rush, who knows how good this defense can be. Manningham in the third round, has the tools and other quality receivers to play with so I really liked this pick for them.

As far as day 1 goes, I would have to give it to Kansas City, can't go wrong with Glenn Dorsey, Brandon Albert, and Brandon Flowers.

As far as the whole draft goes, we definitely had one of the best of all the teams.

Yeah, but from what I've heard they weren't going to be able to ever sign him to a long-term deal. So I think they had a near-perfect Day 1.

Not K.C. Factor in losing Jared Allen and it isn't so good. I liked Jacksonville for picks the can help immediately. Harvey & groves can realy rush the passer. I am a Quentin Groves fan anyway. I had hoped we could have done that. If I add Fabian Washington in then our draft looks real good if he plays to his potential.

DRC is overrated at this point.

Calais Campbell has a terrible work ethic and really doesn't project well in their 3-4. He's not a 5-technique.

I think the Saints had the best first day.
