4. Put Boldin in the slot

dude is a slot machine, this is another no-brainer that the current regime rarely takes advantage of.
He's been in the slot almost more this season when hes been out of it... I was at the ravens game this past weekend and he was literally in the slot 60% of offense plays and every 3 WR slot he was in the slot for the most part. I actually was hoping they would take him out of the slot some..

What are you talking about? When have you ever asked me that?
If you had asked me that, I would have said Cam SHOULD have the best record in Ravens history, considering no other OC in Ravens history has had this much talent to work with. Crap, Flacco as a rookie was better than any other QB we ever had, save for McNair for a season and Vinny's big season way back when. Hate to break it to you, but Cam is an underachiever. The numbers prove it.

PS - Cam has done a fine job of smearing his own good name, he needs no help from me.
Ive asked that on numerous posts. But Ok. I dont want to get sidetracked because now we are getting somewhere.

"Cam" has the best numbers in ravens history. So what numbers are you referring to that prove Cam is an underacheiver? The offensive numbers are on the rise for this season. Remember, you quoted Flaccos last 8 games as high stats? Well Cam gets credit for that too. To not give him credit for what HIS system produces is biased. But I think we do agree that Cams record is the best in Ravens history. I am confortable with that.

I am still waiting for you to reveal what OC in Ravens history has a better record than Cam. I am certain you arent going to respond because you have had that opportunity many times over and passed.

Instead, you appear to be more interested in "fantasy football" while smearing that mans good name. Shame. Lmao.

LOL. That's funny, but no, I am not a Cam family member. However, yu have detected something very true. I am somewhat sensitive to criticism of coaches in general, but particularly those as successful, for as long as someone like Cam. Cams track record speaks for itself and it is no different here.

Many fans dont understand the hard working, blue collar nature of an assistant coach in pro sports. They are blue collar, humble, make very little money, work harder that most people, dont ask for prestige, and stay in the background when credit rolls around. In this world of me, me, me, I respect that. They remind me of myself.

Players are easy to love (and rightfully so). They are celebrities, rich, famous and quick to tell you how great they are. They scream at the coaches and demand the ball. I truly understand how tv and ratings and $$$ considerations revolve around the marketing of the players, but assistant coaches are probably more responsible for their success than, even they realize.

I just tend to stand up for the little guy. That's my nature.

I'm pretty sure that no one here will deny that Cam has talent. Really can't when we are 8-3. I think though that he has a mindset that what we were in 2008 is still what we are. In 2008 we were a team with a rookie QB, a great TE that was injured more often than not, and one go-to clutch WR. We're in-your-face, down your throats run the ball first team. Because we pretty much needed to be that and it was historically what we were. In 2009, we still pretty much have one go-to WR, an injured but talented TE and a QB in his 2nd year. Though there was the game here and there when I disagreed with his play calling, I'd give him a pretty good grade for 2009. This year is different though. Our O line is not making those holes like they used to due to some injuries. Rice is getting keyed up on in every game. We succeed when we put the ball in the air. Whether it be short outs across the middle to a TE, sideline routes for 9-10 yds combined with the deep attempts mixed in. This is when we are at our best. And we seem almost unstoppable in the no huddle when Joe has more freedom. Yet we rarely go there this season. Cam seems lost in either an identity crisis or the past. I just want him to take that next step sooner rather than too late for this season to be successful.

You haven't asked me that.

This wasn't supposed to be another Cam flaming thread, just an opportunity for those of us who do not feel like Cameron is doing as well as we think he should be to get into detail of exactly what we think he could improve on.
But if you insist on turning the thread to that direction, I'm always up for displaying my disdain of Cam Cameron.

The offensive numbers are on a rise? That's just a flat out lie. Last year we were 13th in yards per game, this year we are 14th. We are getting LESS yards per game DESPITE an undeniable increase in the amount of talent we have this year over last year.
Last year, we averaged 24.4 points per game, this year we are averaging 22.7 points per game, once again, DESPITE an undeniable increase in the amount of talent we have this year over last year.

So much for your "offensive numbers are on the rise" theory.

Let me know when you have some actual facts to back up your claim that Cam is not underachieving.

Nah, I dont think so. The silent majority just watches and reads with dignity. Now don't get me wrong. I totally respect (and really enjoy) the debate. It really is a fan forum and I respect the Mods for letting it just play out. Most of our adversaries are seriously intelligent, loyal and smart fans. I say "bring it on." Seriously, it is absolutely entertaining and a break from reality. Thanks Ravens!

lol ... that comment was just a subtle jab at Cam ... some people here think that Cam outsmarts himself or is too smart for his own good. Just my way of taking a parting shot at the man.

Ah, it is becoming more clear now ... I thought I recalled that a while back, you coached HS football (correct me if I'm wrong -- perhaps it was on a different level), and this post confirms my iffy memory.
I see what's going on here. If you are living vicariously through a coach, I would choose someone else, lol ...

Well if I replaced Cam my first move would be to get Bulger ready to start. His quick release and mid range vision is ideal for the receiving corps you guys have. I remember him in pre-season and when he was with the Rams-how he was able to get the ball out so quickly and on target and to spread it around the field.. He is a pro bowl quarterback-something I don't see in Flaccos future. I think one of your offenses biggest problems is that your current QB holds the ball too long. Not at all an issue with Bulger. Plus he is more mobile than Flacco!

lol ... let me guess. You would be certain to bench Flacco in favor of Bulger on Sunday, if you had your way? Nice try buddy, lol. We're onto you. It's a shame PIT sends their spies over here to plant seeds of anarchy!

To be honest I would be more worried if we were going to face a prepared Bulger. He has an amazing quick release that reminds me alot of Philip Rivers though he is not quite as gutsy! The difference is he played behind an awful O-line most of those years with the Rams. If he was in charge of your offense YIKES!

Oh, I see, I wasn't sure if you were serious or not.
Well, you do have a good point; Bulger has a quick release, and is better than what many think. As you said, he would probably do well in a west coast style offense.
But I don't think that would be wise, for several reasons. It is good to know that he's there if we need him though.

Good! I'm glad you take it as intended, because a lot of people take offense to things I say (admittedly, the way I talk at times comes off as prickish, but that's just how I talk).
We need to talk some smack though. I don't have an adversary on the boards, and I'm pretty upset that 1/28/01 verse Ravenmore74 and Ed_reed20 verse wayne are in the running for "Feud Of The Year" in the off topic forum while I have to sit and watch from the sidelines.

So .... your mama.

Oh Yeah Bulger is quite an egg to have in your nest. If Ben went down we have to go back to Batch-in Indy it would be that goofy little Painter guy-the Pats got (who ever heard of) Hoyen? you guys got the best back up QB hands down!!!

But I dont really even see this as "smack." If you provide the data to prove your positons, then it is just an honest debate. This is not really a social networking site, where people pledge loyalty to one poster or the other. Even I, actually agree with many of your posts. Just not all of them. There is no profit (financial or emotional) in this. We just do this stuff when we are bored (I think).
