How much do you think the 49ers have improved this season? How much do you attribute this to Troy replacing Alex?

I think they've regressed and will regress more once they fire Singletary.

Alex Smith is awful and Troy Smith is no more than a mediocre QB - if they don't try and get Luck/Locker/Mallet/Newton in the 2011 draft then their front office needs to go, too.

They're a sorry mess but, looking at their division, they could probably make the Playoffs with a 7-9 record and officialy be the worst ever Playoff team.

Is this is a joke? In terms of the overall season, they've obviously regressed after going 8-8 last season. Since Troy has taken over, they've lost to two terrible teams in the Broncos and Cardinals, squeaked by an average team in the Rams and were shut out at home by the one solid team they faced in Tampa Bay.

This has been the "softest" part of their schedule so their wins aren't all that surprising. If they have success against the Packers, Seahawks and Chargers, that'll be something.

I don't think Troy is really better than Alex Smith. I think the team just plays better psychologically with Smith gone because of the weight Alex Smith has trying to live up to the #1 overall pick. With Troy they're not as pressured to succeed through the air. Don't ask me how that's supposed to work, because I don't know. It's just an idea.
