I have my own towel. I call it the Filthy Towel and it hangs in my bathroom. And I have this rivalry to thank!

Seriously, our teams may hate each other but I love having the best rivalry in the NFL. Not even the laughable Patriots/Colts rivalry can top it.

The Pats Colts game isn't really a rivalry anymore, at least I don't feel it is. The great players and personalities on NE's defense that made the game even more interesting are all gone and now and its just a showdown between two future HOF QBs and and a possibly play-off preview.

With the Ravens and Steelers, it's a true a divisional rivalry featuring two of the league's most physical teams and play-off implications are usually on the line.

With Joe slowly developing into a very good QB, you can add QB showdown as another reason to tune in as well.

Well if we could stop people from selling their tickets to Steeler fans and know there wont be any yellow towels swinging, then the Ravens wouldn't have a need to do this. But we all know people wont stop selling their tickets, and of course Steeler fans will get themselves tickets for the game, nothing wrong there it's a free country. But I do also hate the towel idea, but any way that we can have NO SIGNS of any yellow swinging in our house, I can have a pass on my feeling about a towel for one game a season. I DVR every home game while I'm at the stadium any way, so I can't wait to get home after the game and see how these purple towels play out on the television!! Hell I'll swing a purple towel for the entire game for a damn win Sunday night!!

How often have the Ravens tried something similar to this in the past? I don't like it. It's using another team's idea, similar to how steelers fans ripped off the Heap chant. Purple is a better color than pee-pee tho.

Here is my take on this. Steeler fans travel. This is a venue close to their home. You are going to have Steeler fans there. IMO it appears that there are more than there actually are because that dang piss colored towel is very noticeable. Not only that, being as close together as these cities are, I'd wager you have Steeler fans that actually live in Baltimore. So, this is a nationally televised game. Let's cover that horrid thing with purple. For this one game. It is not about making it a tradition. It is about taking the Steeler fans thing away from them.
