Traded With Jaguars

Good trade, but with the first rounder we should have taken Jenkins or Aqib, Flacco would still be there in the second round...I can't beleive they took Flacco...eh, Troy'll show em who's boss in the pre-season.

Im pulling for Troy when the Pre-season comes on. Nice trade with the Jags though. Gettin extra picks. Finding more late round Jems for our Ravens. Only 5 more months till game day starts again.

You never know if he would've been there. I think it just goes to show that we had him rated significantly higher than brohm or henne. We didn't want to risk flacco being gone and having henne or brohm. Plus, i heard alot of talk about how bad the Jets wanted flacco too. So maybe he wouldn't have been there.

I can see why people think it's a reach, but we needed a QB this year. Next years QB class isn't looking too good, and we got our 2nd guy, who we didn't want to risk losing in the second round and being stuck with brohm or henne.......so possibly a reach, but with all the picks we accumlated moving back, helps out some.

yea i agree with the fact that we needed a QB at some point in time through the course of the draft, but certainly not with our first overall pick....i mean because there was a variety of other QB's out there like Booty and the QB from Hawaii and and Brohm a few other QB prospects that went in the later rounds. so we could have waited to address our "need" at QB..... and who knows..... maybe those later round picks will turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread for their chosen teams. only time will tell for sure. Example?.....Tom Brady being selected in the 5th-6th round of the 2000 NFL draft.......and whom was a (for ht most part) rather quiet athlete whom wasnt flashy, never put up big numbers, was overshadowed by the other QB's....and now look at him....arguably the greatest QB of all time.

so it just goes to show you that you never truly know for sure, what will actually happen.

I love late round gems. Theyre the best especially when people keep criticizing on how your player is never gonna get far.

Special kudos to James Harris, current Jaguars GM and former protegee of Ozzie, for sending the extra picks our way. I love it when Ozzie networks. This is a great reminder of how many former Ravens FO personell are scattered throughout the league and that they remain grateful that Ozzie taught them the ropes.

i'm pulling for whomever can help bring this team to the next level. remember, troy really only has 2 games of experience. sure he's been studying for a year now, but flacco is very smart-he'll probably be reminding boller where to line up on the first day of camp! :P

if you really sit down and think about it, it really was a steal of a deal......1 draft pick in ex-change for 2-3 picks in return... in which, really showed that we made the right choice, and if you ask me....we got some pretty good players with those extra picks and seem to be better off than say, we hadnt of made the move.

Actually it was 4 picks.. 1 was given to whoever we traded to climb back up to into the 1st round. We had 3 left... We used 2 and gave up one for Fabian Washington. Thank goodness the Wizard of Oz is on our side.

Just thinking about what would have heepened on Draft Day if someone other than Ozzie were running the show for us makes me shuddered, some of the reports I've said had us offering out 1st, 2nd, 4th, and a 2009 3rd for the Rams 2nd overall pick, but we weren't willing to give up more in next year's Draft; if anyone else had been running the War Room for us we might have better that bigger offer and lost out on all great players we grabbed with those picks.

and aint that the truth... Which is why Im so grateful we have Ozzie on our side.. If it was Al Davis our teams franchise wouldve been lower then the Dolphins. Probably not on the W column but at everything else.

Ozzie is the type of man whom knows exactly what he's doing, how to do it, and he knows what needs to be done in order for him/us to get there. not to mention the man is smart and is all about helping this franchise out in both the Long and short run of things down the road.

he makes the decisions based solely on the fact to better this team and make it better. thus you see him making the type of moves you see him make. because he has the team in mind and you always want to have your team on top and in the best possible situation.

Ironically, the "experts" said the same thing about this years QB class last year. And all of a sudden Matt Ryan is a top 10 pick. You cant predict those kinds of things.

I'd really rather Flacco not start next year. I think we need to go with Troy or Kyle, while our offensive line is still developing.

Because Kyle and Troy have had a little more experience under a collapsing OL. Whereas Flacco hasnt probably seen anything like it. But the OL is improving nonetheless.
