This Just In: Todd Heap Rules

35 posts in this topic

One of a kind TE

Top 10 best hands in the NFL

Excellent route runner

Stays focused throughout

Does whatever the coach wants

Much faster/quicker than anybody thinks. A lot of good big good tight ends in the league, but when they catch it they look like a big burly TE with two left feet, Todd glides like no one else.

Plus we have two high draft picks, quality TE's in waiting learning from "HEAP"? Awesome.

Just love him.

Beat The Smelly Steelers.

Heap was in the right place at the right time. The corners and safeties had there hands full with TJ, Boldin and Mason leaving a blown coverage on Todd Heap. Joe made it look like Mason was his target in this series. Low and behold Flacco had his eyes Wide open and Todd Heap for the Touchdown!

I really wasn't sure that Heap was going to outrun those guys, but he's faster than I thought! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAP is on fire this season.

You're wrong. Joe and Heap were on the same page which led to the TD. And Houshmandzadeh wasn't even on the field during that play.

Hopefully it didn't take you 8 years to realize that Todd Heap rules. That was pretty much decided back in 2002. But if you meant continues to rule....than your're right on!!!

Talking about playing tough and not afraid to catch balls in the most dangerous zone, it's Todd Heap!

This man is a golden Ravens TE.....

And profootballfocus says Heap is playing worse than he did last year.....
Are they factoring blocking into that because if not, they're on the sauce.

I dont know to be honest, pretty upset they charge to view their metrics now (but I understand why) so I cant view the grades. Regardless, his offensive output is beyond last years as well as his actual impact on games.

Agreed. What I'd love to find out is whether Todd has played less snaps at this point in the season than he did last year. Dickson and Pitta were expected to at least take the pressure off him this year and I wonder if that's happened.

Heap continues to be a beast of a player for our Ravens. Not only is he fast and strong with great hands, but he is also a great blocker at the line and downfield, making him one of the most complete TEs in the league. I love having him as a Raven, and really hope he can continue to produce.

This is Heaps best season going from memory. I also don't remember him getting that many Yards After Contact as he did on that play. He seems to always get hammered right away and goes down or loses the ball (as years in the past). I still say we need to spread the field more for him and Rice.

Does anyone else think this remergence might be because he's fighting for his job for another year or so, with the additions of Pitta and Dickson?

That's my theory, regardless, what's fact is that he's have a great year and is helping out this offense a great deal.

When has Heap had a bad year? He's been an asset as long as I can remember.
Any "bad" year for Heap was injury-shortened. Every week he's been healthy, he's been effective, either in blocking or receiving. We'll need a big game from Heap this week.

Cam really motivated Heap since he got here. He knows how to build up a QB and apparently a Tight end as well...
That's right, Todd Heap was nothing until Cam came here.

Heap is having a rockin' year.
Make sure to vote him into the Pro Bowl!
he really deserves it this time!
I don't think he does but he's still having a huge season.

How are we "nuts"? Everyone knows how good Heap is and how much he's sacrificed his body for this team over the years.

I think he's talking about Heap not deserving a Pro Bowl vote? Which may be true, but that's mostly because oh my GOD, Antonio Gates.

Ain't that the truth! Todd has been the Man for a long time. It's so good to see him healthy again and contributing in the ways in which he is capable. He's played through a lot of pain the past few years that would have sidelined lesser men.

No, that's ridiculous. He's playing better because he is healthier than he has been in 3 or 4 years. To think he hasn't been giving 100% prior to this year is insulting to one of the perennial work horse's of the NFL

Heap has been one of my favorite players on the Ravens for as long as I could remember.. but to shawn's point... the NFL is the Not For Long league.. Heap is more expensive, injury prone(ish), and older then the other 2.... I'm rooting for heap.. but you mean to tell me he didn't feel the need to step up his game when we drafted 2 TE's back to back?
