Pittsburgh Is So Frustratingly Resilient

26 posts in this topic

This Pittsburg team is the most resilient team in the NFL, at least since Ben has been there. The Ravens load up every year and we still have trouble with them. No matter FA's lost, Rothisberger out 4 games, Ben not getting ultimate respect from all the players, injuries, anything like that, they battle. Ben scrambles sheds off taklers like waifs and throws up a wounded duck and it gets completed for just enough for the first down on 4th and 22. I'm tired of watching them hoping they lose every week, when I know the inevidable is coming.

I watch them every week since Ben has been there hoping they'll lose, they rarely do. On top of that it almost seem as if the refs will call anything questionable down the stretch in the Steelers favor.

Bottom line it just seems like the smelly Steelers have flipping angels watching over them.

That being said, I hope we finally destroy them, with Ben in the lineup, @ home.

I loaded up Madden Arcade, which I'm average to bad at and haven't played in a year, set up next weeks matchup, select All Madden, and beat the shi* out of them 32-0. That's the best game I've ever played. I was even running on them at will. Good Kharma. Go Ravens.

I feel you on that, and I'm sure I speak for ALOT of the fans! Yeah Ben must shove a horse shoe down his pants before every game. It makes me sick to always see them luck out. Hopefully we can prevail Sunday night, and get our act together and hopefully our run game will have the "break out" game they all say is coming, this Sunday!!

Funny thing is, I'm sure they feel the same way about us lol. I think Freeman was a warm-up for Ben. His style of play is very similar to Ben's. I just feel it in my gut that this game is ours though. Even in their wins, the Steelers have not been playing that well. Their O line is hit hard with injuries. And it's at our house. It will be close, as these games usually are, but I think, at home, the Ravens take it by a FG.

there not resilient just lucky, if stevie johnson catches that touchdown its game over and were a game ahead of them in the standings. the steelers are not resilient in my book just incredibly lucky. big ben can keep scrambling all he wants but one day hes gonna scramble a bit to much and get his clock cleaned out worse then seymour.

Actually i do feel the same. Hoping to see you guys lose every week and you dont! Specially this week against the Bucs i think i had a chance to see you lose. I guess thats what makes a team a good one. I mean, tough i want to see you guys lose every week, i do respect the ravens as i think they're a really good team. Most of the time Steelers-Ravens games are decided by who makes less mistakes. I think we have the edge on a slighlt better overall team....but you have the edge on making less mistakes.

I dont know you but i always get angry watching this games not beacuse of huge ravens plays, but for our mistakes....still i love them!

...and the Bills don't like to win. They don't know how. Stevie J has been on fire, how can he miss a sure thing? Ugh. Dead to Rights.

I was watching both games at the same time and it was a breath of fresh air once I could turn the Steelers game off and give 100% of my attention to the Baltimore game.
It is incredibly frustrating watching a game in which you want a team to lose as opposed to win.

I likewise have a bad feeling about Sunday's game. Not that we can't beat them. It just seems that I have seen so many games in our house in which they just don't lose regardless of how much better we play than they.

Derrick Mason gave you one as well... it's part of football and the better teams always seem to come out on top in the end.

I agree, but you should have quoted Bltravens.

Not really a fair comparison: Stevie Johnson has been incredible this season and his form would suggest that he catches that and scores. Limas Sweed, however, has never looked better than a steaming pile of garbage. You expect him to drop that, he's that bad.

Either way, what's done is done, and it'll be a war on Sunday night.

Both were dropped TD passes. Ours was in the AFCCG. I'm not going to get into the fact that we should not have even been in the OT position to begin with. We dominated that game for 2 and half quarters until the refs started throwing questionable laundry all over the field.

FWIW they feel the same way about us. I was talking to a Steeler fan neighbor (at our kids bus stop) after the first matchup this year and he was just shaking his head at how Ray Ray keeps bringin it every year. I know he had hope til Ray picked that last pass from Batch*.

Still, they've had the upper hand and are quick to remind us of '08, to which I can only reply we had a rookie QB, rookie head coach, & new offensive coordinator.

I hate the Steelers, but respect them. I hate the Steelers fans, and do not respect 95% of them.

*Batch/Dixon....whatever, all they'll say is "it wasn't Ben" and how pathetic our last second win was vs a 4th string QB.

When you have a good defense, with a 4th string QB in the lineup it is just a trap game.

Same thing with the NE, without Moss, everyone expect NE has no deep threat which is pretty much another trap game.

That game made me want to cry. We have to win this Sunday, otherwise we could end up tied with the Steelers (and lose the division tie breaker), tortured by memories of their wins at Miami and at Buffalo.

I know the Ravens are fortunate sometimes too. But those two Steelers victories felt like daggers to my heart, because they are so resilient. They're always in our way, and those moments of luck can decide how a season plays out.
