Skype

Over black Friday I bought one of those new PSPGO go systems. Hand-held Gaming type deal, but it can also do the usual things like download and play movies and TV shows, Download and stream Netflix, Play music, Internet browser, wifi, and bluetooth. Another feature it has is Skype. Its basically a well known software people use mostly on PC's to talk to people with Microphones. I purchased 10 dollars worth in credits which gives you 360 minutes of talk time to any landlines or cell phone. the call quality is no different than my cell phone. It also has SMS (no different then texting). Really useful!! Im seriously thinking about lower my Verizon plan to something really basic just for emergencies, but using this PSPGO as my main devise.

Anyone anyone else used one of these things? lol

I don't use the PSPGO, but I do use Skype. I actually don't have a home phone, just a net line. I've convinced all of my family to get Skype, we make Skype to Skype calls (which are free!). I've had the same $20 worth of minutes for almost a year now.

I use it for work as well when calling Taiwan, Korea, Germany & Mexico.

Skype is also webcam-capable. You can talk face to face with any Web-cam owning Skyper. Mind you, the reception isn't that great...

Carry a cell phone if you're going somewhere remote, because Wi-Fi connections are much sparser than satellite connections.
