There Has Been An Unnoticed WR This Year

24 posts in this topic

His production is finally meeting his potential.

It's truly phenomenal how good he's been since he had that ugly game against the Colts in Week 5. Thirteen TDs in 7 weeks...ridiculous.

He and teammates Brandon Flowers and Tamba Hali deserve to go to the Pro Bowl this season.

Dwayne Bowe has 14 TD's this year...He has been beasting. Also Matt Cassell has 21 TD's
[/quote]

He hasn't gone unnoticed: he's cited as being the WR with the most TD catches this season. He might very well be KC's best player.

I'd say he has gone unnoticed somewhat. He's been outplaying Roddy White for a number of weeks now and not really getting the credit for it.

The last part I bolded is the very reason why he may go un noticed at times. That's what happens when good players play for bad teams, they don't get recognized the way they should, I mean Steven Jackson, Calvin Johnson, both don't get the credit they deserve since they play on the Rams and Lions; Buffalo has some good players on defense but they go unnoticed because they play on Buffalo. So it's actually not surprising he is going unnoticed since he does play in KC and even if KC wins the West, I doubt KC will get respect and Bowe would probably still go unnoticed.

He's overachieving. Take out Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs unstoppable run game and Bowe goes back to struggling to get separation.

I've had him on all 3 of my fantasy teams since our drafts... I didn't forget about DBOWE. : P

thats probably because atlanta are a trendy deep playoff run/super bowl pick.

bowe deserves to be a pro bowler, the chiefs are building a side with real potential

I remember when we were linked to acquiring Bowe and how KC was possibly looking to trade him. I'm sure they're glad they didn't pull the trigger now!

I couldn't disagree more. He's very talented so I don't see how he's overachieving and being KC's only legitimate receiving weapon outside, teams know they have to stop him but don't.

KC's pretty damn good. Thye're at the top odf the same division as SD (LOL at the 22 pt, 5 turnover game!)

Bowe started off slow and had a major case of the dropsies against the Colts. Led a lot of people to believe that it was him being off the juice.

But since that Colts game he has gone on a tear. Its good to see for him, he really is a great WR.

Disagree all you want, he's not as talented as other WR's with less touchdowns. It's no coincidence that he is producing when Jamaal Charles is the best pure rusher in the league and rookie TE Moeaki has emerged as another weapon. I

There aren't too many WRs he's less talented than. He's a first round draft pick who dominated at times at LSU and is doing so right now. The presence of Jamaal Charles or Moeaki have drawn some attention away from him but Bowe still has to make the catches and not only is he doing that, he's making plays after the catch too.

Actually, it's no coincidence that he is producing when he has a quarterback who can play the position well. What does Moeaki have to do with Bowe's production? He had the legendary Tony Gonzalez on the field with him his first two years, and he still put up over 2000 yards in those two seasons combined.

2007 - Huard and Croyle at QB. 995 Yards, 5 TDs
2008 - Croyle, Huard, and Thigpen at QB. 1,022 Yards, 7 TDs
2009 - Cassel at QB. 589 Yards, 4 TDs (Only played in 11 games)
2010 - Cassel at QB. 885 Yards, 14 TDs.

Bowe has actually performed well even with lackluster quarterbacks. The man was has played well nearly his entire (albeit young) career, and he's on the verge of having a career year this season.

So he puts up some scores and everyone jumps on the bandwagon like they knew all along? please. If you had followed his career not even the Chiefs fans were convinced he'd ever be a legit number 1, this is the guy who couldn't handle being the only weapon in the team as soon as soon as Tony Gonzales left the building.

He had ONE season without Gonzalez (prior to this season), and it wasn't even a full season for him. It's entirely too early to say Moeaki could be called a weapon at tight end, so really only Charles and Jones could be considered the other weapons. Bowe's struggled more with his off the field attitude, he's always had the tools to be a great receiver and now he's showing it.

There was a common theme in their forums that he couldn't beat the press. He'd get tied up by anyone and have to fight for the ball.

No doubt some Chiefs fans never thought he'd put it all together and become the player he is right now. But it's not a big surprise a guy with his talent is finding such success and I'm certainly not going to say it's just because of one explosive running back and a solid rookie TE.

Actually I recall Dwayne Bowe being a hot topic either this last preseason or the one before it as someone a lot of people on this forum wanted to bring in as our #1.

That was more of an indication of our WR corps than what he could do for us. I wanted him here too, even if he couldn't get consistent separation at least he could be physical and beat on his corner. *shrugs*
