Andre Johnson And Cortland Finnegan Get Ejected

I can't find the replay online, but I saw it on RedZone... and WOW. Talk about a fight. They both ripped each other's helmets off, then Johnson got on top of Finnegan and started hitting him in the face (full force with a fist). Both players were ejected.

Cortland Finnegan has openly proclaimed that he wants to be the NFL's dirtiest player and this only helps his cause. Andre Johnson is one of the most mild-mannered players in the league, so for someone to provoke him to where he explodes like that, Finnegan must've really crossed some lines. Finnegan practically mugged him the way he was holding him, so I can't blame Johnson for giving it right back to him and taking it a step further. There's no room for this kind of thing in football, but I can't lie, I smiled when I saw Johnson taking some swings and totally beating the crap out of Finnegan.

Remember, Finnegan's the same guy who tried to get into a fist fight with Derrick Mason two years ago when the Titans played the Ravens in Baltimore. In that same game, when the Titans were trailing, Finnegan tried to get into a fight with former teammate and team captain Keith Bulluck and had to be separated. The guy has no respect and he plays the game the way it's NOT supposed to be played.

I'm very comfortable saying that Finnegan is a disgrace. I'm sorry, but there is no pride in being the dirtiest player in the NFL, self-proclaimed or not. Playing mind games with the opposing receivers is one thing, and Cortland completely crosses the line it seems.

I feel dirty saying this (no pun intended), but Finnegan is the one person I'd actually love to see Hines Ward lay out.

Franny I like you say you can't blame him and then come right back and say that there is no room for that lol.

Why was Finnegan ejected, not like he threw any punches, he played within the rules.

Sounds horrible, but I would gladly wear a Hines Ward jersey in Baltimore for a day if he did that. That's how much I dislike Finnegan.

Finnegan was ejected because he instigated and also continually baited Johnson after they were pulled apart. He also ripped Johnson's helmet off, which can be viewed as continuing the fight.

Yeah, there's no room for fighting in football, but this is the exception I'd make since I hate Finnegan that much.

Cortland Finnegan is and always will be a dirty player, but Andre is one the best in the league, and one of th more respected guys, and for him to start throwing punches is totally unexceptable he shouldve just walked away from it, and it cost his team.

Cortlands attitude toward the opposing team has to stop, and he continues to bait the other guys until they break, I mean seriously you are in the NFL, professional football, not little league, he just needs to stop acting like a little kid and be a man, and do your job, which is to stop the other guy from breaking the plain of the endzone, totally unexceptable.

I think most teams wouldn't mind their corner taking Andre Johnson out of the game, no matter how they get it done.

I really don't think anything in that particular play that would have caused Johnson to react like that. That was pretty standard DBing. Clearly it's a cumulative effect of Finnegan being pretty incredibly good at getting under the skins of receivers. If you can make a receiver lose his head, that's just another way of doing his job.

He does literally look like a clown, though.

He must have lost quite a lot of brain cells after those two hits from Andre Johnson because he was jawing at the Texans sideline after the incident.

I'm like "dude..you do know that your team is getting shut out right??"

Would be sweet justice if Johnson just gets a big fine and Finnegan is suspended.

Ban that dude, Finnagan from playing NFL!

Finnagan, you can join UFC if you like to fight.....
Andre Johnson should join the NFC: he knows how to lay the haymakers!

You can't post large animations, especially ones that exceed our somewhat-accepted 500KB-1MB limit. That was a 4MB file, which is the average size of mid-quality mp3s. Some people browse with their phones or slower computers (my work computer is a fossil) so please be considerate of other users the next time you post an image, especially a gif or any animation.

Don't, cuz I wouldn't (feel dirty, that is).

At least between the Steelers and Ravens, there's SOME form of respect there. I mean, yes, it's respect in the form of beating the heck out of each other. But still! Both teams know and understand that they're not gonna feel right after the game.

But this guy... "bad news" written all over him.

Where'd all the Finnegan hate come from? I'd love if this guy was a Raven, we don't have anyone in the secondary who is as fiesty as him.

Webb is feisty, Finnean is just dirty.

The dislike for him comes from statements like this one and cheap shots like this and this. Here's another play showing the type of player he is.
