A trap for what? Except for an honest debate site. Provide evidence.
I think you're crazy, and I mean it.
Does that get the ball rolling?
Provide evidence.
Prove it.

"an honest debate site"

You really think you are providing that?
You think that's all you?
"provide evidence."

Do it.

You are probably right about one thing. The fact that I am actually responding to this "incoherent rant" may be enough evidence to put my sanity into question (+1 for you - LMAO). But your post also underlies the whole purpose of the thread too. If you really dont have anything to say, why do you insist on keeping saying it?

What puzzles me is; "no one" is forcing you or anyone else to either read or post into this thread. Yet, you appear totally threatened by its presence. I'm confused.

You say in one post "its a trap." Now, I think I undersatand what you were "trying to say," but I ask to to explain it to be certain. Your response? "I think you're crazy." C'mon Man.

Stats are used to measure a players production on the field. They are one of the main things used in evaluating players. Stats are going to be a big part of any argument.
Some times stats can give you a false perception on how well a player is reall doing, that is why you can not just base an argument on just stats.

2007 we had an awful year.
Im pretty sure most of you remember the worst CB duo ever between the likes of Oglesby, Prude, Pittman, and Ivy.
:( Thanks dude. I was trying to forget that entire year. Now I'm going to lose sleep remembering our dbs getting burned by Peyton manning and Cleo Lemon. CLEO LEMON!!! I need to find some booze :throwcomp:

It's been 4 seasons since AD left and we still only have one OLB who can rush. JJ has half a sack this season despite playing almost every defensive snap and yet the Steelers have a rookie OLB who has 2 sacks despite seeing very limited action.

Agreed; that's why, rather than just pointing to statistical leaders, I look at context relative to other players, especially at stages in their career. It's important not to just take stats at face value.

This whole thread is a trap.
Let it die.
It's not a trap at all. No one's attacked anyone for the points they've raised and there's been some nice discussion thus far. If anything, this might actually be the most in-depth football discussion we've had here in some time. Heck, we could probably put together a month's worth of NFL Network amateur analysis shows with this material. I'm practically writing 5-minute essays here. It's all good.

True. What I am actually hoping for is honest debates in all of the other threads. Certainly, if that was present, then I agree, there would be no need for this one. Lets hope that all posters get the message and this thread does die. IMO.

I have a great argument that I am passionate about and I am going to prove it!

I am extremely tired of hearing Pittsburgh fans speak as if they have the best football city in football history.

The fact is they are all full of it. I think everyone can agree that the measurement, as you all always state, should be championships.

However, whenever they mention their "6 Lombardi's", they neglect to mention the fact that you (Pittsburgh) have achieved 6, YES, 6 total championships in 76 total football years (1933-2009) OR 1 Championship every 12.6 years.

Just for the heck of it, let's compare this to Baltimore which had football teams from 1950 to 1983 (COLTS) AND from 1996 to 2009 (RAVENS) OR 47 total football years. Baltimore has 4 undisputed championships (1958, 1959, 1970, and 2000) OR 1
Championship every 11.8 years.

Their illogical ignorance and sweeping of pre-Super Bowl history under the rug, is a distortion of the truth. That truth is how really Baltimore football (1 Championship every 11.8 years) IS more successful than Pittsburgh football
1 Championship every 12.6 years)

BOTTOM Line = Baltimore Football > Pittsburgh Football based on 1st grade mathematics.

Well in Ozzie's defense we tried to bring in a guy to replace JJ in that roll and he dented his dome. JJ was actually very disruptive against the Bucs in the pass rush though.

Agreed. I remember seeing the stat line. I think he had eleven tackles, second to Ray Lewis with fifteen. Correct me if I am mistaken.

It's well documented that he can play the run (not for the first half of this season though) and maybe if we were running a 4-3 his non existent pass rush wouldn't be such a problem.

Good post! Not that it matters much because it's not the NFL but, the Stallions & Mariners have also won football championships for Baltimore.
