Pass Rushing Productivity

we don't have a top 10 pass rusher at LB or DL ,in fact Johnson is one of the worst in the league this year . I believe Suggs was the one who said that we get a lot of qb pressure and hits .

Couple things: PFW sucks and stats deceive.

2). Lamarr Woodley, while I love him, hasn't done much this year.
3). They listed Jason Pierre Paul (NYG) as a bottom 10. He's barely been in there this year.

Finally, I wouldn't be upset about it.

They also rave at PFF about how good Suggs has been this year

I knew J.j. hasn't been getting to the QB much this season but to be in bottom 10 is just abysmal.

I wonder how many rushes Suggs has in comparison to guys like Lawson, Matthews and Woodley and what his "pass rushing productivity" number is?

Funnily, even with his 5 sacks, I'm guessing Ngata is only in the middle of the pack it terms of pass rushing productivity.

The only thing I can say to that is, I can't believe "funnily" is a word....and that I wasn't aware of it. "Funnily" enough, I'm going to have to start using that.

Any coach will do that AND should do that. He can't come out and say (publicly) that JJ is lacking and possibly over rated. He has to believe in the players on his team and stick up for them.

Now, in the coaching room and with him behind closed doors he can be more candid with his review of his play.

Oh, I'm not complaining, but their silly stats had his performance in the top 10. Overall? Since he's been in the league? 2008? All probably yes, but he's been pretty quiet lately.

No idea, and I don't care. My concern is that he's not pissed at us and accepts our offer. I "think" he understood the position we were in with the CBA. He will likely get a better offer from us if the CBA is worked out.

J.J. has been dealing with back problems and obviously hasn't been performing well. I'm not terribly surprised that he isn't rated highly.

JJ seems to have regressed this year or something, he rarely makes a play anymore of so it seems, I'd like to have a playmaker take his place, wouldnt be surprised if he was no longer starting next year

There is a reason why Kindle was drafted and a young guy like Bugress sticks around. I'm not saying JJ is over and done, but the Ravens know JJ isn't a quality pass rusher. So you go out and draft a kid like Kindle, who foresaw the events that happened to him playing out.

If you look at Bugress he is a well rounded OLB much like JJ but he's more athletic. He won't be a stud pass rusher, but he'll be around the ball often on 1st and 2nd downs. No matter what anyone's opinion of JJ is, it's hard to find anyone that's gonna out work him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see JJ getting a few more plays off in each game more and more, much like Kelly Gregg has.

JJ has never really been a guy that's gonna fill up the stat sheet. I think where JJ has declined the most is in his run defense. I don't see him setting the edge nearly as well this year. I wonder if playing through injuries much of last year is taking its toll on him this year.

Guilty your honor. I was wrong. But this pass rush thing is the most scary part of the Ravens this year. Actually, they have not REALLY been a strong pass rushing team for the past 4 or 5 years. But this year, in particular, I think its gonna finally hurt us BIG. I really hope not, but NFL passers (rules protections too) are just too good for us to succeed with a poor pass rush - IMO.

Harbs is a modern day head football coach in professional sports. This position has evolved to become somewhat political because the player hold so much power now. I think Harbs does a great job of accepting the limitations of his authority. The Ravens are blessed to have him.
