Turkey Bowl

Who has an annual game? Where do you play? Who do you play? Whats your specialty? Tell us what ya got....

Buddy of mine has about 4 acres and we play every year at his place since 2005 or so. Before that, I would play wherever/whenever! I generally play WR (being 6'4" helps on the fades over my short *** friends, ha). I'll run a few snaps as QB as well from time to time.

Great to get out, but the knee and back are starting to tell me to stop earlier than I used to :(

I usually run a game at my house. There's a giant park across the street, and a whole bunch of my buddies get together and play tackle until we can't move anymore. We'll be playing on Friday this year. If I feel like getting physical because I was picked low, I'll play WR (I'm about 5'11, so the slot is my specialty lol), or when I feel like my arm can handle it, I'll play QB for the most part of the day. I could use a 6'4 weapon haha, most of my friends aren't even above 6'1. Love some Thanksgiving football.

I've played some with friends, but sadly there's not enough around to play a game anymore. It's sad, because I loved playing.

Despite my short height, I've typically played running back. Good speed, shorter height allows me to zip through smaller gaps, and good hands to be very efficient receiving out of the backfield. While not as effective on defense, I've been decent covering, and at least have the speed to get to the quarterback.

Damn, you guys use RB's? So that means you guys actually get about 20 people out there? The most I can get is about 10, on a good day baha. Would love to try RB though, always have.

On good days, we could get 7 people on each team. Quarterback, two recievers, three man line (who could be eligible) and a running back. On defense, we'd end up with three/two lineman, two/three linebackers, and two defensive backs. Worked out surprisingly well.

On the times we played with less people, I'd end up being an extremely undersized receiver. I wanted to try playing a wildcat type of quarterback since I am able to throw pretty well, but we never thought it was fair when we only have 5 people on a team.

I play almost every Saturday morning in the fall. My knees feel it too. As for Turkey Day, I'm all-time QB for my Step-dads boys!

We usually play our family versus my cousins' in their backyard. Generally it's not really close, my brother and I are 6'3 and varsity athletes, my cousins are, um.. not..

I play in two flag football leagues (one in fall and one in spring) and Turkey Bowl is nothing like either, ha. Its a bunch of fly patterns, heaving the ball down field at every opportunity. Still a ton of fun, but very little defense involved.

Takes me back to the good ole days of when sports were you only worries....no mortgages, no kids, no marriages, no full time job...aaaahhhhhh!!!

For those of you that are sub 20, cherish what you're doing right now, ha!! :)

When I was living in Florida,a bunch of friends would play every Thanksgiving and Christmas at a park nearby. Unfortunately it was two-hand touch as the games were co-ed. I usually would play slot receiver/TE since I'm not the fastest but can catch anything thrown towards me. On defense, I'd either play d-line or drop back into a zone.

I haven't been able to play since blowing out my knee playing in a flag football league a few years ago.

Used to play Frisbee Football with my Uncle and other family members, but I moved away for college so this year I'm going to have to settle with watching the Lions get mutilated.

I never liked Frisbee football because the parabolic trajectory always confounded me. A real football is much easier to throw with.

I'm sub 20 and away into a full time job for 6 months before going to college. I aint cherishing nothin'.

My flag team normally has a contact game on thanksgiving (which is fun as a Corner) and I tend to end up covering a guy that's 6'7" and 210lbs. I'm 6'1/2" and 165/170 (on a good day), you do the math.

On a side note, the average height of this board is too tall.

We played 11 on 11 with subs and my team won 65-14. I played safety and had like an int, a sack and ff which my buddy scooped for a sack. On offense I just play slot receiver. Love turkey bowl!

Yeah, we had 7 on 7 and we won 48-36. Played some safety with a pick and had 3 TDs on offense as WR. "You can't guard me!"
